“Natural wonders in Indiana? Yes!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

I've loved this park for years. None of the trails are very long but they cover some great terrain--everything from relatively flat trails to climbing up and down ladders and walking up streambeds at the bottoms of small canyons. Bring shoes that don't mind getting wet and ideally, a walking stick! The lodge is a great place to get lunch--not fancy but a decent meal without having to drive into a nearby town. The nature center has a nice room to sit and watch the variety of birds (and squirrels) that frequent the feeders--we saw at least 10 different kinds of birds today. Keep in mind that there are not trash cans--all trash is to be carried out. Some inconsiderate visitors junk up the nature center restroom with their trash from picnics, which is not nice.

“Best Family Hiking Trip”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Great experience - trails 3 and 6 were awesome. Right along the riverbed. Be prepared to get wet! It costs $5 to enter park but no charges inside (unless you eat at the restaurant at Turkey Run Inn).

“Fun place to hike”
Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

I used to go here as a child. Going back as an adult was lots if fun. Lots has changed in twenty years! Great trails! So much to see. Bring good walking shoes that can get wet and dirty. If you come out of a trail clean, you missed something!

“Lots of great family memories, but always booked...”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Book early as weekends in the summer get reserved rather quickly! Go canoeing or rafting down Sugar Creek. They have easier trails but do expect stairs to those as well. Love the scenery and stay in the lodge or if possible the large Roost cabin/house. I avoid the regular cabins due to my allergies find the hotel more comfortable. The kids enjoy the indoor pool and we like the restaurant in the lodge too. Great family vacation destination.

“Unique and beautiful park”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Next to Brown County SP, this is my favorite in Indiana. There are a surprising number of trails and interesting topography for the middle of Indiana. Our family from Colorado came out and we took them to this park and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. On nice days it can get very busy and the tight spots can get bottlenecked. Some of the trails would be hard for dogs as they have ladders and areas of scrambling.
