Folks who are looking for Pizza Hut are not going to find it here, so before you go down the road complaining about the lack of thick, greasy, crust and oily, gooey cheese, let's just stop right there. Not that there is anything wrong with either of those things, but this is not your local momma's pizza joint. The crust is very much in the New York style, thin, but not a cracker, and soft and chewy, but not a wad of dough. I had the roasted artichoke pizza, which had fresh spinach and, you guessed it, artichoikes. There may have been some chicken on there, but I was so happy with the artichokes and the feta cheese, that I have forgotten!

My husband and son both had the Mac Daddy. It was pepperoni, I think two kinds of sausage, there may have been some sort of ham type thing on there, too (did I mention I had artichokes?). They were both moaning, so I assume they also were in heaven across the table while I was grazing through the spinach.

The decor is very cool, industrial looking, and the place was immaculate. And packed with people! Always a good sign. Between Shooters, Downtowner, and, now, The Red Pepperoni, the pressing reasons to go to the hilltop are getting fewer and fewer. And if gas goes much higher, driving to the hilltop just to hit a restaurant may no longer be an option if we expect to have any money for food once we get there!

Red Pepperoni is great place for pizza. If you can crawl out of the Hut, you need to give it a try!

This is a new establishment in Madison. What makes it stick out from other pizza joints is that it offers a different variety. I had the sicillian and it was excellent. The giardiniera on top was an excellent addition. My wife had a vegetable offereing and had nothing but praise. We will definitely be back!
