“Very nice stay.”
Reviewed August 16, 2010

This hotel left a great impression for us. The lady at the Front desk was nice and knew what she was doing. Our room was clean and confortable. All that was to be expected from a nice hotel. The breakfast was much more than expected. I would have expected to pay much more for a nights stay in this type of hotel with this kind of service. The Breakfast really put it over the top. I would rate this a four star, the only reason it was not a five was the lack of a pool and the bathroom light was burned out

was very happy with our experience here. Our family reserved three rooms and stayed two nights. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished TV, Refrigerator and Microwave. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They even baked some fresh cookies for me when I noticed the cookie tray in the lobby was empty!. I did get to use their guest computer room. Which was very quiet, private and included a printer. Also I would like to add that when I first called them to inquire about pricing and availability, the person I spoke to advised me to call Hotels.com for an even better rate than they could give me. A real bargin

I am from the Madison area,we relocated to Illinois for a new job.We have family still in the area and have stayed at the Country Hearth Inn many times. In July,my family went to Wisconsin for vacation. My wife checked our checking account when we returned to discover The Country Hearth had charged our account with a nights stay the same date we were in Wisconsin. We called the Inn to talk to the manager, after many calls he told us we had to pay for the room.We went to our bank and showed them all of the records we had from staying in Wisconsin. The Bank agreed we had not stayed at the Inn and took the charge off our checking account.Every week the Inn would charge us again for the time that we were not there. The bank had us change our debit card so the Inn would not keep charging us.If you have had this done, you know it can be 2 weeks before you have a new card.We found out the Inn keeps your Card # in their computer, and anyone who works there can make charges on your Card, once you give them the # the first time. The Inn is clean,a good room for the money,BUT BEWARE AND PAY CASH!!!

I'd stay here again. We stayed her during a trip across southern Indiana during the fall. We had no agenda. We just walked in and asked for a room. Only thing they had was a jacuzzi room at a very high price. I said no thanks. The employee told me she could give me the room for the price of a normal room. I accepted. It was an average quality, cheap hotel. It was clean and the employees were friendly. The workers often vacated the front desk and hanging outside with traveling construction workers in the area but it never affected me. The breakfast was pretty good, well at least for free.

The computers were down, so our reservations did not exist, along with sixteen other travellers , some who had travelled over 8 hours..( We only travelled 3 hrs.) The person at the desk said that she could not honor our reservatioh because the computer was down, the manager refused to come in, and she was busy reading her romance novel. She was too busy to manually enter our (and sixteen tired others.) reservation information. I am happy to report that we received excellent accomodations at the Hillside Inn, the absolutely best hotel in Madison, if not the entire midwest. Just climbing the hill instantly sends you into serenity. I love the Hillside Inn
