We arrived and thought no one was home! There had been a total blackout due to a transformer having blown. We initially checked into a beautiful room with a view. But even though the electric came back on, the a/c didn't work in that end of the building. We ended up having to move to a room on the first floor which wasn't nearly as nice and had a view of the parking lot. All the rooms are well furnished, but it was disappointing that we couldn't have stayed in the room we were supposed to have.
The management did knock off $30 from our room charge the next morning. The desk clerk the night before thought they would likely just comp the room because of the trouble. Again, we were disappointed. This was an anniversary overnight for us, and we were saddened that despite circumstances beyond everyone's control, more wasn't done to compensate.More
