There are other national chains of Mongolian Grill style restaurants, but this is the first in Lafayette. It's in the Pavilions at St Rd 26 and Creasy facing 26 and many people in Lafayette haven't discovered it yet. This isn't a sit down and have a waitress take care of you kind of restaurant, though. You need to know that going in. You are seated by the hostess, and the server will take your drink and appetizer order, but then you're on your own. You walk through a line and fill a bowl with fresh/frozen ingredients (meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, oils) and then take your bowl to the grillers who work around about a six foot grill. They usher you around the standing area so they can keep track of whose bowl is whose. They they grill your food in front of you while you wait, then slide it onto a plate when it's done and hand it back to you. You then return to your table and enjoy. So...for someone who doesn't like the standing and walking of a buffet, you may not like this. But for someone who doesn't mind the interactive nature, it's very fun. The quality is excellent, the preparation is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. The other national chains that I mentioned have more variety and some have a salad bar, but they are also more expensive. I've been to HuHot a number of times since it opened and I love it. They do it very well.
