We only had a short stay, but found the Comfort Inn Parkside very clean, comfortable and affordable. We have 3 rooms booked between us, and all were neat and tidy, with comfy beds and nice decor. Had read a couple of reviews that had a us worried, but were pleasantly surprise. Would stay there again.
We were not here long enough for much of a review, but for overnight, we had no complaints. It was in a nice area called Belmont. A shopping center across the road and LOTS of restaurants with in an easy walk. We arrived late so had to hussle to find one before they closed.
There was an elevator which was a bonus for us and undercover parking. Our phone did not work but one was brought up very quickly. there was no place to plug in my laptop and accessories, so a power strip was promptly brought as well.
If you don't expect too much, this place is fine for a short stay. Free wi if is a bonus. Foxtel no longer connected though. Rooms are comfortable. May be a little pricey for what you ultimately get.
Arrived late, unfortunately for us, it was too late to find accommodation elsewhere, so we stayed, although afterwards wished that we hadn't. After checking in, then proceeding up to the first floor in the lift, we were greeted with scratching's in the inside of the lift, like what you would expect in shanty town. The room looked kind of warm, we left to find some food, only to arrive back to see smoke coming out of the undersides of the doors (even though a smoke free hotel) needless to say the smoke crept into our room during the night, which never makes for a great sleep. Not that we had much of that considering how uncomfortable the beds were. Didnt bother to check out bfast and in fact was awake from 4. Did manage to find a 5 star for the same price on the waterfront, wished we had of shopped around more. Beware!!
We booked early for for a family room to cater for 6 adults. We arrived receiving bedding for 5. After complaining, initial response was, "we thought 2 could sleep in a single bed". Finally, a sofa-bed was made up to accommodate the 6th adult. It was so uncomfortable, the floor was used in preference to the "sofa-bed". No hand washing basin is provided in the shower/toilet area. The kitchen "sink" is the only hand wash facility provided. Room divider advertised doesn't exist!! Undercover car park facilities are not suitable for anything above small car sizes. Exposed parking is OK. The morning complaint to desk staff was met with contempt. An apology would have been nice ... but really ... never expected one. Probably would have been better off sleeping in the Park adjacent to the Motel.
