Booked this company on viator, the idea of a smaller group was very appealing. On the day of the tour, we met Tuen (sp?) at the free ferry and one other couple joined us in his van. We went to Zaans Schans to see the windmills, explored some fishing villages and visited a clog/cheese making factory. It was an amazing day and our guide was super nice and knowledgeable. At the windmill place we encountered several large bus tours being herded around. We were so glad we chose this company and hope to return and go on the boat tour they offer!
Our guide, Apostolis (Tol) was awesome.
Tol was very polite and very knowledgeable talking about the attractions.
Tol had a wonderful personality and sense of humour. He took his time and asked his guests if they wanted to stop anywhere and was very patient.
The scenery is beautiful. The tour is not rushed. Tol is always available to answer questions and offer assistance.
This is probably one of our favourite tours and we have done a lot of them.

I picked up a flyer at a cafe in Amsterdam Central Station advertising a small group tour of Zaanse Schans, Volendan and Marken lasting 5 hours. Sensing something new and different we took a punt and were not disappointed. The sole operator and owner, Apostolis, drove us and another two clients in his van through some wonderful waterlands landscape and postcard towns while entertaining us with his commentary about the local history and people. The benefits of such personalised service are very evident when we witness bus loads of people visiting some of these delightful places.
Small group and great guide. Tol will take good care of you and is flexible if you want to stop or stay longer. I would highly recommend this tour.
You will have a great time knowing how the whole water is pumped from the canals, the process of churning out oil from groundnuts and once you reach the top, the wind will blow you out literally, awesome feeling though
