A one night stay at this hotel ended up changing my entire summer road trip.

We stopped here for what was supposed to be 1 night, enroute to Kentucky for a camping/road trip.

One night on the bed here completely changed that. The bed was wonderful- clean, comfortable and plush. I laid there and decided that we were staying another night here! We ended up spending time exploring Indianapolis, which I am glad we did! This hotel was convenient to the zoo, canal walk, and monument circle, which seemed to be the heart of this city.

The hotel was lovely. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. My kids loved the Nick Jr. kits that we got! It had gated parking, and I did not feel as if we were in a bad neighborhood as another reviewer noted.

Got a $81 AAA weekend rate on the Marriot website. This is the lowest I found for this weekend in downtown Indy. The hotel is near the Residence Inn on the Canal. The staff is very professional and very helpful. My room had a few issues (toilet handle needed adjusting) which were promptly dealt with. Laundry room if you need to do laundry (for a dollar-with free detergent). Free internet in the business center. Skip the $9 breakfast and grab some yogurt for a dollar. Near the museums and a short walk to the downtown Circle Center Mall. Take a walk on the nearby canal. Skip the $17 parking charge and park on the street (no charge on weekends). Rooms a little noisy (I could sometimes hear the neighbors). Overall, highly recommended (Note: There is a newer Courtyard near the Capitol on Washington--this review is of the older Courtyard on Senate Avenue. Rate at newer property was much higher).

Not really a leisure trip. My husband had a medical appointment and we were darned glad to find this hotel. Indianapolis has tremendous construction and after 90 very frustrating minutes of trying to find our way around, we came upon the Marriott Courtyard. We had planned to stay cheap on the interstate, but that proved difficult so we went for this one. It was nice and affordable (with the ProCare rate). Both very frustrated when we checked in, the front desk clerk Liz was awesome. She had a smile for us, put us in the perfect room - very room, clean & quiet. And right across the street from an adult beverage and supper! Didn't use, but the pool area, fitness center, business center & restaurant area looked great. Outside kept immaculate.

I was here with my infant son for a weekend getaway in June. Hotel itself is located a few blocks away from the restaurants, etc.of downtown, but we just got in our car to drive a few blocks to Monument Circle when we wanted to go out. Parking on the street quite easy to find in downtown; there is also tons of parking for $1.50/3 hrs at the Circle Centre Mall downtown.

We booked it for $37 on priceline and were quite pleasantly surprised. room was very large, with king bed, loveseat, plenty of room for a crib. Being next to the canal was great; my son really enjoyed strolling along the canal and seeing the ducks, paddleboats, etc. There is even an elevator that will take you down to the canal [though it stops running at night]. Free wifi worked well in our room.

This is an older property--the rooms have those individual heating/cooling units; the tv's are not flat screen, the furniture not super up to date. If you care about those kinds of things, this is not the place for you. But it was clean, the room we stayed in was large, the pool was nice to swim in, and the service was EXCELLENT. Liz at the front desk answered all of our questions and was super helpful in helping us get to where we wanted to go.

They serve breakfast in the restaurant for $8.95; we just went to au bon pain on monument circle instead.

The area itself is sort of whatever--there are some condos nearby, and a large parking garage across the street, but not much in terms of cafes, restaurants, within the immediate vicinity. One cafe on the canal, and that's about it. (the more bustling area is maybe a 15 min walk away?) But it is very conveniently located for the zoo, children's museum, etc.

Since it was the weekend, we just parked on the street for free rather than paying for parking in their lot.

We did not experience any problems from panhandlers like the previous reviewer (perhaps bec. we didn't walk to downtown). I felt safe on the canal walk when we went in the early evening. True, the walls are thin and you can hear people in the hallway, next door, etc. But overall, i would stay there again.

The hotel itself is not bad. We had a nice room. It is clean and the staff was very nice. But I would never stay here again because of all the panhandling. We wanted to walk downtown for dinner and a Fever game, but this hotel is several blocks from City Centre. We were approached on every block. Some people would even get mad if said leave us alone. It was very frightening and frustrating. Because of the area it is in, if you do stay here make sure you take a cab anywhere you go even in the afternoon.

Booked a night through Priceline for $40 on a Saturday night.
Was there for the Indy Vintage Winefest and was perfect location .. only about two blocks away. Right next to canal also. Parking was $17 .. surface lot shared by Courtyard and Residence Inn. Staff was very friendly .. asked for micro/fridge and one of the maintenace guys found one for us after the front desk said none were available.
He was a life saver as my wife has a serious food alergy and we need to eat our meals in the room. Very nice king room .. no complaints whatsoever. A great deal at $40.
We booked well in advance to get the good rate.

Would have liked cheaper (or free) parking but expect that in downtown Indy.

Arrived midday for early checkin for 1 night and had a choice of rooms. I had won the hotel on Priceline for $40 and felt good after watching the lady in front of me shell out $149 for the same room. This is your typical Courtyard. It is very clean, good amenities, and every time I walked in the main door I had a welcome from the clerk. The hotel is a short 5-10 minute walk from the heart of downtown, or just steps from the canal. Parking is $17 per night, a little on the stiff side given the location.

The only drawbacks were the stiff parking fee, lack of restaurants close, and relatively thin walls. Otherwise, is was a perfect stay.
