First, what a location. You are right on the canal, and it is amazing. Great place to walk, clean, safe, etc... It's a fairly new development as most of the buildings are new. If you have an afternoon to yourself, bring your walking shoes, plenty to do around the canal.

The hotel itself, not bad. The staff could not be friendlier, and the hotel is clean. Two issues: TVs are very small and ancient, and elevators are painfully slow. Ask for a room near the stairwell as it's much quicker to walk.

Free hot breakfast. Paking is $17 a day. Safe area. Got it for $45 on night on Priceline. Bourbon Street bar is a block away. Outdoor bar if you are into that. Good greasy food and cold beer.

We stayed at the Residence Inn for only one night. The staff was excellent. The rooms were clean. My only slight complaint was that the bed was a little too soft. With the hotel being right on the canal, it was pretty cool to walk out the back entrance and take a morning walk along the canal. Pool was nice too. The variety of item offered for the free hot morning breakfast was good.

Always stay at Marriott Residence Inn's while traveling on business or with family. This Residence Inn did not meet my expectations. It was a wonderful location, wonderful view of the canal and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had Marriotts rewards points to use, so the cost of the room was free. I am very glad it was. We stayed in a studio suite, bed was comfortable. The kitchen was dated, marks on the counters, dishwasher set crooked in the wall, very old looking appliances. It did not represent the Marriott name well. The bathroom floor tile was cracked in several places and looked dirty. Carpeting was worn and frayed. I am glad the room price was free, as I would have been very unhappy to spend the money the website advertised for the room. Hotel needs upgrades, NOW!

I wanted to take my family for a quick trip to Indy to visit the Children's Museum and the zoo and couldn't decide between the Courtyard and the Residence Inn. Both were in the same complex, but in the end I chose the Residence Inn.

The lobby & breakfast area were clean and nicely decorated. The pool was small, but was a perfect size for my two young children. It also had a brand new hot tub.

The room we had was a studio, so it has a queen bed and a pull out couch. It was more than enough room for the four of us. It had a small kitchen area with a breakfast bar. It had a very pretty view of the canal.

The hotel was located right on the canal, which is about 6-8 blocks from Monument Circle. It was a very scenic walk, especially with the leaves changing colors. The hotel was located a very short drive from the Children's Museum (10 minutes) and zoo (5 minutes).

The free breakfast was wonderful! They had the usual items like yogurt, bread/pastries, fruit, juice/coffee, but also had eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles and oatmeal.

The Residence Inn and Courtyard share a parking lot, which charges $12 per night. You do get in & out privlidges, though.

We loved the hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

we visit indianapolis often and wanted to walk the canal waterway this trip so choose the residence inn for a different experience. the staff were extremely helpful, even offering a parking pass for my intown relatives to use. they offer a great hot breakfast and evening wine, beer, and light supper menu. rooms were bright, clean and the canal walkway was enjoyable. although a little pricier than we like to spend, it was a great mini get away.

Everything was great at this hotel! The staff was amazing, they were almost overly helpful! They booked my dinner reservations, gave me a map of downtown and showed me everything there was to do within walking distance. The manager even called another Marriott (on the same property) and found me some super glue when I had broken flip flop! If I were driving I would have been a little ticked about the $12/day parking. The free breakfast was so good, it was worth paying for. Other than the parking, my room 108 was right next to the alternate exit and the door slammed all night, I am sure if I would have complained that they would have moved me. I can't say enough good things about this hotel! The best thing is, I named my own price on Priceline and got it for $40/night!

I stayed here as because of the central location in Indianapolis. The rooms had nice kitchenettes and full size refigerators. The bed was very comfortable and the living room large enough for the three days I was there. The breakfast was up to par with scambled eggs and sausage, fruit, cereal, and yogurt, although these and everything else needed to be replenished more often than it was. If Ihad been on a time crunch, 15 minutes or more to refresh the station items would have been too long for me. The hotel also had a nice pool although small, but a good size jacuzzi. There was also a pool table in the basement. The hotel is right along the canal and a short walk to rent the paddleboats. Some people brought their dogs because the hotel accepts pets for a fee.
