Hyatt Place Indianapolis/Keystone
Ranked #26 of 188 Hotels in Indianapolis
Reviewed April 17, 2013

For those of us familiar with this section of Indianapolis, this particular hotel is the afterlife of the AmeriSuites which once stood here. A corporate change of hands can either raise hopes or dash them. I stayed here with my dad for a convention and felt that it would be "decent" for us now being a Hyatt. We both enjoyed our stay and several times had to stop in our conversation to agree on how nice the place was.

The rooms have a contemporary modernist chic decor with a living room-bedroom-merged style of comfort and open spaces, making it perfect for business, family, or even a quiet time alone. My dad really enjoyed the staff, who did everything to accommodate us. Clean room with fridge, nice sized desk, and comfy beds we did not want to get out of. Well built rooms kept out the noise of busy I-465.

It's location (Keystone At The Crossing) couldn't be better. Easy to get to (except for a bit of looping where access roads meet).

We definitely wish to return.

we stayed here because I had some hyatt points to use up. We love this section of town because of all the nearby shopping and some of our favorite restaurants are there. This Hyatt appears to be somewhat recently remodeled (I see it used to be an AmeriSuites), though there are some signs of wear. The rooms I though were smallish, and I've never been a fan of the toilet and shower being in a separate room from the sink but that is more preference. The TVs are indeed quite big - almost too big for the room. There are no two-bed room that have larger than a double though which is a pet peeve - but with the sofa bed there is enough room for a family of four to stretch out a bit. We didn't try breakfast because LePeeps was across the road and who would pass that up? Overall though, it was a nice stay and we'd return without hesitation.

Great hotel generally. Yummy cookies. Great decor. Rooms are spacious. Partially divided living area and bed area. Big pullout couch. Wet bar with mini fridge. Large countertop area by sink, very nice for getting ready. Huge tv that swivels. Comfortable bed. Easy to find. Walk across the parking lot to a very nice mall and lots of restaurants.
Suggestions: request a room facing the mall. The hotel is next to the interstate and the noise is quite noticeable. My room had a bit of ceiling drywall peeling off. Little black hole spooked the kids.
I truly enjoyed this hotel except for those two issues that could have been fixed if I'd notified the very courteous staff. I was just too tired!

Thanks for your positive comments and suggestions for improvement.

Please be assured that indeed, we currently have a team of professionals re-doing each and every guest-room ceiling's texture and finish (which does NOT affect any other room whatsoever, in the process).

I'm sorry you had to experience a room before the process has been completed. Regardless, I'm happy to hear that it wasn't a "major" determent to your overall experience, and again, "We're On It". :)

Thanks very much,

We've stayed in many Hyatt's. This one seems a bit older and more run down than others. The food is always good and consistent with other Hyatt's. We have stayed here several times. The location is great. Easy to get to most parts of the city from here. The rooms are nice for families. The sofa / sleeper saves money so we don't have to get an additional room with traveling with the kids

Room Tip: request early non feather pillows. They run out of them quickly.

It all works when Reception (with Cookies!) , Housekeeping, Breakfast! Cleanliness and Service come together. Doesn't hurt to have the hotel manager email ahead and ask if you need any further services before arrival. Good Place To Stay and Relax after a hard work or play day! Thanks!!! for a fine visit.

Great updated rooms, nice TV, comfortable beds. Cookies in room and continental breakfast a bargain for 109.00 on a Saturday night. Booked online, last minute, easy check in. Would return when needing a hotel in Keystone.

I am quickly becoming a fan of Hyatt Place! They just added a 24 hour bistro menu, and with the free wifi, parking, breakfast, and suite sized rooms, how can I not like this? This particular Hyatt, located in the suburbs near Carmel Indiana, was very good. If in business in Indianapolis, I would definitely stay again.
