Owner description: Memorial Day Weekend brings the internationally acclaimed Indy 500 to the Brickyard in Indianapolis, and it's the most exciting speed race event in the calendar. This 200 lap race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and the participants battle to win the $1 million Borg-Warner Trophy, along with a huge cash prize. Go along, soak up the speed, and eat one of millions of hot dogs and bratwurst, which if laid end to end would circle the track more than three times!

This is an annual trip and it never gets old. Plenty to do, see, eat and drink, in and around Indy. The speedway is always a pleasure and the race was one of the best in recent memory. Can't wait until next year!

As a life long motor racing fan, i have always wanted to attend the Indy 500 in person. This year, my wife treated me as a present. It was everything i had imagined, and more! The IMS makes a point of honouring the many traditions that make the Indy 500 special. I was very impressed that that city managed traffic leaving the event better than almost any other major sporting event i have ever attended. The City of Indianapolis is way nicer than I ever expected. Talk about a well planned city that values its greenspace and older neighbourhoods! We enjoyed it so much we are now planning to make this an annual pilgrimage!

This IS the greatest spectacle in sports! We go every year and I always have a great time. The track is amazing! It is right in the middle of a neighbor, which seems odd, but it works. This should be on everyone's bucket list.

A few hundred thousand spectators enjoyed parades with floats, marathon running, carb day featuring the band Poison, the 500 Museum, and one of the greatest races in the world on a most historic race track. If you enjoy big time events and spectacular racing, the Indy 500 features all of that over several days. We have enjoyed years of our family attending the greatest in open wheel racing. This year certainly ranks as one of the most memorable.

We just spent 3 days at the Indy 500 and totally enjoyed every minute. It was a very exciting event. On Friday was Carburation day and a great Firestone 100 race with 4 cars head to head at the finish. We visited the Hall of Fame museum which was fantastic. Saturday honored Parnelli Jones with Vintage cars on the track. The race on Sunday was great.Lots of spectacle and tons oof people. If you go make sure you are there very early otherwise you will wait hours to get in.We will definitely return another year.
