My husband and I took a trip to Indy to catch a concert @ Conseco Fieldhouse. After reading many reviews on different sites about this hotel, I was a little worried. We got a steal for a room, so I couldn't pass it up. From reading reviews, we found out that you cannot get to the hotel entrance using a GPS if you put in '50 S Capitol Ave.' The entrance is actually on Washington. You can valet park for $28 overnight or self-park for $25. We were told that with the valet, you have in&out privileges, but with self-park you do not. We used the valet. The doormen were VERY helpful and polite, asking if we needed help, told us where to go, etc. Check-in went smooth, and we got the room that we had reserved. Upon entering our room, we found it to be clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are a little on the small side, and the mirror over the sink is a little small, but it served the purpose. The pool area was very nice, and although we were not traveling with kids, we noticed the pool is 4ft all the way around, not very kid-friendly. The fitness center was HUGE, the largest i've seen in a hotel. Not sure about the internet, we did not have a need for it. We used the skywalk to get to the mall, that was nice. The hotel location was wonderful, less than a 10 minute walk to Conseco Fieldhouse. Check out went smooth, and we did not have to wait long at all for the valet to bring our car around. Overall, the hotel was very nice, but I probably wouldn't have paid more than $130-$160 a night for a king size standard room. Yes, parking could be considered expensive, but it's the same in any big-city downtown location. Oh, and on some travel websites, you have the option to pay a little more for a "city/fountain view"....the city view would be nice if you care about that sort of thing, but the fountain wasn't working when we were there. Otherwise, you get a "nice" view of the Mariott behind the hotel, maybe some scenery on the sides, luckily view wasn't important to us. In the future, my husband and I would definitely stay at this hotel again- we had a very pleasant stay!
