Excellent hotel, no complaints but the moto gp activity in August makes it unsafe and no fun. Street is packed and dangerous and loud music, screaming and vehicles till 5 or so in the morning. Had to skip some gen con activities due to the reckless bikers and scary atmosphere on street. Rooms clean, service great, food awesome. DO NOT GO DURING MOTO GP!!!!!!

I love staying at the Omni Indianapolis. The location is extremely convenient for accessing food and the convention center's side entrance. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The rooms are nice, the beds firm but not too firm, and the pillows fluffy but not too bulky. There are too many layers of blankets on the beds (hot!) but it's quite easy to remove the top comforter and snuggle the lower comforter without being cold. The Select guest free drinks in the morning are a very nice perk, and room service is very fast and not too pricey compared to the restaurant prices. A great way to get food when restaurants are packed because of a busy convention! (Like GenCon) I have stayed here for five years in a row for the GenCon conference and intend to stay at the Omni for every conference in the future.

This was my first time staying at the Omni this year. The staff were incredibly friendly and our room was very comfortable. My only complaint about the hotel is that the double beds are incredibly small compared to other hotels I've stayed at. And not the most comfortable. Room space was abit small as well, but this is understandable considering the hotel is a heritage building. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be close to the convention center and downtown attractions in Indianapolis.

The Omni had amazing staff, but the room was small with a bathroom that smelled strongly of smoke, our room facing the street was noisy well into the night and there are NO VENDING MACHINES anywhere in the hotel. Enjoy your $7 bottle of water and your $6 soda from the mini-bar, as those are your only options.

We apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. We are happy to accommodate a room change if your bathroom smells like smoke. If that is the case, it is likely a guest has violated our 100% non-smoking policy in a nearby room. While we don’t have vending machines in the hotel, we do offer free morning beverage service with our Select Guest program (free to join), and we will deliver water, soda, juice, tea or coffee at the time you specify each morning. There is also a convenience store two blocks to the east on Georgia Street. We hope despite these issues that you will consider staying with us again next time you are in Indianapolis.

Great place to stay on a visit to Indy with family. The staff are friendly, courteous, professional and always appreciative of your choice to stay with them. I have stayed here over a dozen times and 5 or 6 with family and have always been satisfied with my stay and our treatment.

We stayed here for 7 nights for a conference at the nearby conference center. Our arrival was the same day as a huge soccer game so everything was insane in the downtown area. Our car's nav system handled the one-way streets in downtown Indy really well, but the front of the hotel was a little hard to find. I'm not sure what we would have done had we not been using valet parking - the entrance was a madhouse. The valets were perfect, though, and unloaded our luggage, explained the system for accessing our car, and got us whisked into the hotel with a minimum of fuss.

Check-in was very busy due to the soccer game, but the concierge (Liz) came over and checked us in. She was great - explained everything about our Omni Select Guest perks, which elevators to use, etc., and we were soon in our room (815). It turned out to be a Get Fit room which has a giant space between the bed and the TV for exercising and comes with a nice bag of exercise gear. This made the room spacious, but strangely laid out for actual work. The other end of the room had a nightstand, the bed, and the desk all crammed in together so tightly that the powerstrip conveniently located on the edge of the desk was blocked by the mattress so you couldn't actually plug anything in. This made it difficult for 2 people with a laptop, iPad, and 2 phones to find enough other outlets.

Overall the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. However, when we left the room for dinner the first night we mentioned to the front desk that one of the light bulbs was out and were assured it would be taken care of immediately. It actually took 3 requests to different people over 2 days before we had a working light. Similarly, I asked if there was a DVD player I could borrow, and was told that the person would check on it, but no one ever followed up (I didn't, either, but I never saw the person I'd asked about it again). One of the perks given to long-term guests was a neat little card where we could request all sorts of special things - extra towels, toiletries, etc., but the best part was that we could request that our room be cleaned at a specific time. How great is that?! Alas, even though I requested 8am, the earliest time listed, our room was cleaned at a different time each day (just like in many hotels), and never first thing in the morning. I would have been fine with the level of service we received had we not been promised so much more.

The bathroom is small but the counter space is ridiculous and doesn't have to be. Our sink had a small marble surround and then about a foot of unused space between that and the wall that could have easily been additional counter space. There was a small glass shelf above the sink but that was filled with trays and containers of amenities. We moved those to the top of the dresser and that gave us a pretty good space for small things. Under the sink it was open and there was a small slatted table that held towels. We stacked the towels and then had a little more space for the rest of our toiletries, but it was pretty tight since we were there for a week. My biggest gripe, however, was that there wasn't the little card that EVERY hotel has now where if you put it on the bed they won't change the sheets every day and they'll only change the towels you throw on the floor. I couldn't believe that we weren't offered this choice - I know that we could have hung the DND sign for our entire stay, but I like having the bed made and the trash emptied. I just don't need clean towels and clean sheets every single day. What a horrible waste of water and energy! The room was very clean and quiet, though, and the turn-down service was a nice touch but a little disturbing since they turn the TV on (the first night we had that momentary fear that we were entering someone else's room - and they were watching TV!).

The lobby was spacious, airy and nicely decorated. There's complementary fresh water at all times (the valets even offer bottled water when you pick up your car), and the historic parts of the hotel are quite lovely. The lobby music (auto-tuned female pop singer) clashed hysterically with the jazz standards of the 1913 restaurant but as long as you weren't at the junction of the two spaces it was fine. Overall a nice hotel and very convenient to the convention center and lots of restaurants, but a bit disappointing after other Omni properties. One last thing - the book in the room that tells you all about the services could use some more information, like what's in the fitness room and where it is, the hours of the restaurant and bar, etc.

I was very pleased in the front desk service. I have to switch rooms a couple times because of the outside "World Band Tour" ... it wasn't that noisy, but I wanted to find a quiet area to sleep. I left some important items in the first room and the front desk personal gave an outstanding effort in helping me recover those items... again, they were very important items.
