Hyatt Regency Indianapolis

What a place!!! Our overnight at the Hyatt Regency was absolutely exquisite. The check-in process was a breeze, Valet service was friendly and very efficient and our room was immaculate. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and our room package. My husband and I were out for a night away and we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant stay. The breakfast buffet is top-notch with high quality food and good service....even better, there is a Starbucks coffee shop right in the lobby!! This hotel is connected to everything. The mall and convention center are just a quick walk completely indoors. Very convenient with all that Indianapolis has to offer very close by. We highly recommend this hotel!!!

Room Tip: Ask for the Capital View room...features 2 double beds and a nice tub for a soak plus a fabulous vie...

I got a deal on Travelzoo for $79 for Valentines night. We were pleased with the check-in process including being able to do it on line to get our actual room. We were pleased to get champaign when we arrived at the front desk and the personnel was very helpful and friendly.

Our room, on the 15 th floor was a nice size, quiet and clean. The only problem we had was regulating the heat. The location is outstanding as it is across the street from the circle center mall and a block from the convention center. There is a Starbucks of the lobby area and numerous self parking options $20-24 across the street from the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I wanted to have an early Valentine get away and also try to escape the awful winter weather that Indiana has been having. We decided on the Hyatt Regency downtown Indy, and we are glad we did. The whole experience was wonderful. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. We ate at both the downstairs cafe' and at the Eagles Nest at the top of
the hotel. Both were very good, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We used the spa, and it was great to sit in hot water and forget about snow and ice! Our room was clean and comfortable,
we splurged on breakfast room service, their continental breakfast is highly recommended.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor, no problems there.

Although we made advance reservations, a room was not "assigned" to us when we arrived for check-in. The room was nice, but it took forever for our luggage to be brought up to the room.
A complimentary breakfast was supposed to be included at the restaurant, but we were charged for it on our bill (this was two weeks ago) and we are still trying to get it off the bill. No one seems to know what guests are being told...very confusing. Also, we did not have our electronic devices with us (I know, very strange in these times!) but the hotel charges for 15 minutes of internet time! Ridiculous. Their front desk staff is very unorganized. The hot tub had no hot water.

Room Tip: Ask when you reserve the room that they actually assign one...

Very nice property, centrally located to everything in downtown Indy, including the Capitol, shopping & restaurants.

Hyatt has automated check-in procedures to allow self-check in, similar to airline kiosks. While that has an element of convenience, it is a bit cold and impersonal. The result was that I never spoke to a single hotel staff person during my entire stay. Not all bad, but Hyatt is missing an opportunity to extend a warm welcome.

Rooms are well designed, contemporary and attractive. Elevators are fast and nearly always there when you need it regardless of what floor you're on. I ended up with a room at the end of the hall with a window only to the interior hallway. As a result I kept the curtains drawn the whole time, making it a little claustrophobic.

Self-parking beneath the hotel is expensive, didn't seem to provide in/out privileges, and when I went to leave, the parking payment kiosk would only accept cash - no credit cards.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room with a window to the outside and not just to the inside atrium.

I have stayed at this hotel before and the rooms are clean and staff mostly friendly (except the manager who is very rude), but a few weeks ago while there with many teenage girls for a dance convention we had two IPads stolen from the room. With the lack of security cameras on the floor we were not able to recover the stolen items. The hotel was not helpful (we had to call the Indianapolis police department) and the hotel offered us some free coffee for our trouble. Too little too late. Basically the hotel just said to bad for you! Not to mention the parking in Indianaplis is outrageous! No free wifi. Not good for a family trip.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Dear Guest,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. First let us express that we are very sorry this happened to you. We know how an incident like this can shape your entire trip, especially an important one such as the dance competition. While it is seldom that something like this happens in our hotel, we do provide in-room safes as an added measure of security for our guests valuables.
