Thank you for your business.
I am glad that the location was conveinent for you and that the front desk was friendly at check-in.
We hope to see you again on your next visit to Indianapolis.
I am a devote Marriott person and I always expect the same level of service not matter which one I am at. However, the Castleton Courtyard just didn't meaure up to the basic Marriott standards I have come to expect.
The front desk staff were adequate but only just. They were not welcoming but more like "let's get this over with". The keys they provided didn't work so we had to trek back to the front desk to get ones that did. There was a side entrace that is somewhat faulty with the key card - sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Front desk didn't seem to care about this issue while it was major to us as one of our party had trouble walking and it was easier to park by that door but then we had to have someone run down to the next entrance to let us in.
While our room was clean the hallways were a bit unkempt and looks like carpet could use a good clearning or updating. The towels were thread bare.
Nice area but the road construction was a pain (not Marriott's fault). Once they get the Allisonville road bridge finished it will be much more convenient.
Basically this property is "tired" and needs a Marriott update.
I would like to thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review of the hotel.
I am sorry that the front desk staff did not treat you better, and I am sorry that you had a problem with your key. Since you checked out we have upgraded our key system and I have followed up with the front desk to ensure that they give every guest the service that you have come to expect from Marriott.
In addition, I would like to let you know that we will be renovating our entire hotel in October. We will be remodeling both the lobby and the guest rooms.
Thanks again for staying with us. We appreciate your business and hope that you will give us another try on your next visit to Indianapolis.
This hotel was clean, but very unorganized! Every night we were there, we only recieved 3 towels, when there were 4 of us in the room. The first night we had to call room service to get towels, the 2nd night we called, but we had to go to the front desk to pick them up. They were out of shampoo and continioner. The breakfast was not included, which we thought it was. The price was $9.95 for the buffett. Probably wouldn't stay again, only because there are several other hotels in area that offer more for the same price.
Room was clean and we are picky. Check in took one minute. Hotel in a cozy wooded area but close to mall and restaurants. Pool area was clean. Nice balcony with lots of trees. Could see my car from room. Safe area. Wish they had free breakfast. Would stay here again.
just stayed their last night (8/4/12) and I found it to be a nice hotel especially for the money. Booked through priceline, check in was a breeze, literally less than five minutes. Our room was clean and was of a decent size. Plenty of hot water in the shower and the room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. While I didn't have much interaction with the staff, we had no complaints, when I did the guy working the counter seemed to be nice and had a good sense of humor and did his job well. The only sownside was the swimming pool was a bit crowded when I took my son down but the hotel has nothing to do with that as it is available to all guests. The hotel is in a good location right near the Castleton Mall and plenty of places to eat. Checkout was a breeze. Next time I stay in Indy, and I will, I would gladly stay at the castleton Marriott Courtyard.
Not worth it!! Try 3 1/2 star Hilton, or other options first!!
for the record, I got a a good deal through priceline, but it is NOT WORTH IT...and they do not offer refunds so please be careful!
STAINED BEDDING/ LINEN!!
THEY DON'T CHANGE SHEETS!
check pictures, only took a few but they show!
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE/ SHORT STAFFED (same guy was there the whole time and he can't pick up phones, check people in/out, and clean hotel rooms...where was everyone?)
I feel bad writing this review because clearly they are undergoing some issues and can't afford to upgrade or even hire enough staff to manage a hotel...but that isn't what this site is for and that isn't our job to shell out our money in hopes we can help in return for a bed that's stained and bad service...
-the comforter is just separated by a thin sheet on each side, which were all stained...YUCK! and the pillows gave me a stiff neck the first night.. (literally could not turn it and had to spend $$ on a chiropractor)
-called multiple times to the lobby and no one ever picked up... very frustrating!! all I wanted was clean towels and clean sheets :(
-even the complimentary coffee always seemed to be empty and the lids they had out didn't even fit the cups they have so you have to worry about spilling your coffee if there was any.. (only 1 day out of the 5 did I get any)
-Per my experience June 2012 There's construction off the freeway and you have to go a round about way to get to the hotel
P.S. upon telling the manager about these things and hoping they correct them, it was not rectified until we were already going to check out so he said they will give me a credit, etc. but I have to go through priceline and they will call him... I spend my time doing this, submit my claim and get this notice back from priceline:
Thank you for your patience while we researched your issue with the
Courtyard Indianapolis Castleton.
We apologize if the hotel had misinformed you regarding your reservation
status. We have contacted the hotel and spoken with Raymond (Assistant
General Manager) and have determined that they did not offer to cancel
As we indicated on our website, we are unable to cancel reservations and
cannot offer you any other options. Hotels are willing to offer great
prices to priceline customers because they agree that their reservations
will not be changed, canceled, or refunded.
I would like to aplogize for all of the problems that you experienced at the hotel and I will make sure that all of the issues that you mentioned have been addressed. I am the new General Manager of the hotel and I just started here on 6/11/12. I wanted to let you know that we have increased the staffing levels of the hotel and that in October of this year we will be undergoing an entire hotel renovation. Both the lobby and guest rooms will be renovated. When I spoke with Raymond he had given priceline authorization to credit you for one nights room and tax, if you did not receive that credit please let me know and I will follow up with them.
