“Not what we expected”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Stayed at this property on New Years Eve. When we checked in the lady at the counter had the personality of a board. She did not welcome me, smile, or acknowledge it was a holiday, She was most concerned about explaining that we would need to pay for parking. Not a big deal we were downtown for goodness sakes.

The room was nice except for bathroom. Fixtures were rusty???? and large wet area with bubbled paint. Potato chips in trash where it had not been emptied. Not what I expected considering the great shape of the rest of property.

Breakfast was great!

The customer service in this hotel was awful except for the dinner lady that was fantastic. The furniture in the hotel was in serious need of cleaning and the staff did not smile or even want to give out info. We have stayed in a number of Staybridges around the county and have enjoyed them a great deal. This was the worst. They charged us for self parking on the non game days in a half empty lot. As a valued Platinum Member we are seldom charged for parking. When the front desk was asked any question, they gave one word answers and were very unhelpful. We would never stay there again.

Room Tip: There are much better choices in Indy. If we had known the town better, we would have chosen an are...

Visited Indianapolis for a Colts football game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Our overall experience was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the room clean and comfortable. Convenience and location was an A+. The hotel was a short walking distance to all the downtown activities and across the street from the stadium. For a reasonable extra fee we were able to keep our car parked in their lot during the game, allowing us to walk to the game and back Thanks Staybridge!!

This hotel could easily have gotten a better rating.

I'm on the tail end of a 4 night stay in a King bed Suite. I'm here for a medical conference and needed to be close to the Marriot on Maryland which was full. This hotel is only a few blocks away and situated directly across from Lucas Oil Stadium.

The good..

The hotel is extremely clean. The design is pleasant and calming with extras like a home theater room, laundry room and business center. This means convenience. I can sit in the home theater room with it's big easy chairs and watch a dvd or if I nneed to print maps or documents, the office center is set up great.

The room is adequate, not huge, but big enough to have a guest or two over. It come with a full size fridge, a counter top range, sink, dishwasher and breakfast counter. If I were staying more than a week this would be great to cut costs on eating out. As it was I at least got to keep takeout cool in the fridge and the ice maker in the freezer saved me trips to the ice machine.

MOST of the hotel staff was hellpful and courteous. The pool and hot tub were void of people my entire trip (bonus) as were the workout room and outside patio which has TWO Weber grills! These grills could be a lot of fun in warm weather, especially being connected to the pool room.

Breakfast was actually pretty good. They had the same old fare as Holiday Inn Express but they had salsa, onions, and tomato slices for the eggs PLUS chopped fruit! Bacon was good. Coffee is horrible (Wolfgang Puck) but it is available with flavored creamers ALL DAY! Bacon was tasty
.
The bad...........

The night staff woman has absolutely no reason to be in the service industry. Upon checking in I was greeted with "Last Name?". There was no, 'Hello" or 'How can I help you?' etc. Just a vacant stare as if I'm interupting her facebook chat and a "Last name?". She then asked for ID and rattled off a bunch of statements about parking.

This leads us to the next annoying thing about this hotel. Factor in at least 14 dollars a night for parking. There is a miniscule lot behind the hotel and when that is full (always) guests are forced to park in a garage two buildings down.

OK. I sort of understand the parking fee. I've run in to it in downtowns before, but the system they have in place is horrible. First, their own shuttle van parks diagonally across two parking spaces. Why they would rob a guest of one or two parking spots is beyond me. Why wouldn't the van park in the garage or at LEAST in only one spot?

Next is the actual PROCESS of parking in the garage. The night staff woman told me I had to scan my card at the garage to get in and if it didn't work, I had to bring the ticket

Room Tip: Seems like all rooms woul be the same. No real bonus here with views.

Had a great stay the first time- went back and had the same experience. We have stayed at the hotel two years in a row to watch the browns plays the colts. Perfect location. Not far from lots of restaurants and the stadium is your back door. Nice sized rooms with practically a fully furnished kitchen. My only complaint is that you have to pay to park, but what can you do!

My husband and I were in town to celebrate our 5th Anniversary by watching the Packers and Colts game. Even 90 minutes before game time traffic was not bad and we had easy access to the hotel parking lot even though we could not check in until after the game. We were very pleased with the front desk staff, Marie and Joseph both were very nice, and our room which was very spacious, clean and up to date. The complementary breakfast was filling and there were plenty of choices. We would definite stay here again.

This Staybridge is newer across from Lucas Oil Stadium. The rooms are nice, kitchens modern with granite countertops. Beds are comfortable, nice bathrooms. Our main complaint was with the staff at the front desk - our cousins were checking in the day after we did and arrived at the desk at 2:50 pm. They were informed that check in was at 3:00 pm and that they would have to wait 10 minutes! How silly...after pressing the clerk they were checked in at 2:50 pm! Also, we requested the "light housekeeping" on a Saturday, which normally has no housekeeping service. They didn't come, and even if they did they don't make the bed...just provide clean towels. This is truly "limited service". The pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ areas were fine. Our biggest problems were with the unfriendly staff. Will not be staying here again...there are better options downtown.
