We were here for the Big Ten tournament. The downtown (surrounding area) is quite nice with many restaurants, hotels and a mall within walking distance between sessions. Parking in the area wasn’t too outrageous, most ranged from $10-20 for 24 hours. Our seats were center court, but midway up the upper deck. Not a bad view of the court from up there, and the jumbo screen above the court was like watching a TV at home (if you wanted a close up view of the action). No alcohol at the tournament, but assume that was just a Big Ten policy. Recommendation: don’t bother with anyone holding a “tickets” sign, a wad of cash or stack of tickets. The scalpers are ridiculous. They tried buying our championship tickets (face value $60 ea) for $5. Try going to a sports bar instead – we averaged just under face value for our two sets of tickets with minimal effort after deciding to head home early. Sad to see the Big Ten is returning to Chicago next year. While it’s a similar distance for us, we likely won’t go… we like Banker’s Life and downtown Indy much better.
