The staff was very helpful, very friendly - the best asset of this hotel. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The bar/restaurant had good food and the staff was able to help me with takeout at an off hour time, which I appreciated. A benefit would be free Wi Fi in the rooms...and better coffee (!) Better K-cup selection for in room coffee (good dark roasts) and better coffee in the lobby in the a.m. would be an improvement. The lobby thermos had lukewarm, not very good coffee. It's not a huge thing, but very important to me at a hotel.

We have never stayed anywhere better and we have been just about everywhere. From the time we arrived at valet parking to the time we checked out every staff member was wonderfully friendly and helpful. The common areas are beautiful and appointed with original art works. The check in staff honored the Diamond member upgrade and we stayed in a King 1-bedroom corner suite. The bed was super comfortable and the room unbelievably clean. A perfect stay.

When you arrive at the Conrad, you quickly realize you are about to have a great experience. In an era where customer service is nonexistent, the Conrad changes the game. We were treated by the friendly staff immediately upon our arrival. The valet and front desk were welcoming and attentive. We were quickly checked in and went to our room. The rooms are amazing! The housekeeping staff prepared our room to perfection! It was spotless from top to bottom and when we walked in the radio was playing softly. The bathrooms are awesome with stand up shower and separate tub. The bed was comfortable and we were offered a pillow menu. The wine bar is top notch and fun and breakfast at the Capitol Grill was equally satifying.Upon departure the valet quickly delivered our car and help us load, asked if we needed directions and wished us a safe trip home. When you stay in downtown Indianapolis, the Conrad is a must! Great stay! Great staff! Great hotel! Thanks Conrad!

This hotel is fantastic. Pretty lobby, great staff and very pretty rooms. We stayed in a basic room with a king bed. The room is fairly large and very well appointed. It had a very rich look to it. The bed was amazing. Comfortable, with high end sheets. The bathroom is nice and comes with a tub as well as a seperate shower. There is a TV in there! This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The bar at the Capitol grill which joins the hotel is nice too. This hotel is the best in Indianapolis.

Driving the three hours to Indianapolis for work is not so bad when there's a stay at the Conrad at the end of it. This hotel actually deserves 4 1/2 stars.

PROS
- Gorgeous lobby (see photo)
- Stunning contemporary art by Walter Knabe in common areas (see photos)
- Dazzling meeting rooms (from the elevator doors to the lighting to the art work): these rooms put every other banquet room I've been forced to sit in for days at a time to shame. It's interesting to me how other hotels seem to neglect their meeting space decor
- Good service. 18 people offered me a bottle of water between the front door and my room
- Two restaurant choices: upscale and upscale casual
- Comfortable bed
- No shortage of marble in the bathrooms
- Value: $249 is not inexpensive, but considering that most properties downtown were booked that evening, they probably could have charged more. The rate at the Springhill Suites was $240
- Location. Directly downtown, connecting to mall, convention center and many restaurants
- Impressive-looking swimming pool

GOOD ENOUGH
- Gym is fine, equipment is fine, but heating vents directly over the equipment is a bit much
- Room decor in the sleeping rooms is stereotypical old-school, stuffy hotel (lots of beige). I wish they would extend the modern feel to the guest rooms

CONS
- Hallway noise carried into the guest rooms, and the housekeeping staff yelled to one another down the hall
- Housekeeping turn-down staff attempted to enter my room without providing sufficient time to respond
- $35 parking (valet)
- My dinner at Tastings last summer was disappointing
