“Great value - fresh food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

We are fortunate to have this place within walking distance of our house. The option of freshly grilled to order food as well as the hot buffet, salad, fruit, soup, dessert and more pleases most visitors we have. At around seven for lunch before 3 pm and ten or so for dinner (senior discounts and coupons available) it is a bargain, even though beverages are extra. The staff is truly friendly and helpful, but some are not fluent in English - no big deal as they have the basics down. There appears to be two large rooms that could be used for private affairs and could seat over 60 each. Place is only about two years old, still looking new and clean. Selection and quality of food is good and every guest we have taken there has been delighted - no wait for the kids, etc. - fast in and out. No matter what a person's dietary choice or restriction, the offerings here help make satisfying a diverse group easy.

“This traveler has a concern- this place looks like it's backpedaling...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

This traveler's wife and this traveler made this restaurant the "goi-to" place for Chinese cuisine. This restaurant has a grill and a sushi bar, both of which are adequate.
But of recent, there has been a decrease in the quality of the food offerings. Wrapping hot dog pieces with bacon instead of wrapping the fake crab with bacon, for instance.
The price has increased, only slightly.
Service? Well this is a tale with two different endings.
As a rule, the servers (actually bussers who clear the tables of empty dishes) do seem to work hard. As a rule, friendly. They are tipped each time.
There are two employees, however, both young females (early 20's?) who are constantly on their smart phones. Easy to pick these folks out- they have pink smartphones and do not smile. One takes you to your table, the other is at the register.
This traveler understand that "times they are a' changin'" and that smartphones are everywhere, and that the younger generation uses these quite a bit.
But this traveler has been in the food service industry as well as retail, and remembers the adage:
"If you have time to lean, you have time to clean."
These two employees seem to place their cellphones ahead of even a smile to the customer. It is imperative to understand that the customer is the reason for the business, and that without customers, one would not have a job...and consequently might not have a cellphone.
Keep these out of sight- they have no place in the workplace EXCEPT on personal breaks.
Give the customer the added "attention" that will make the customer feel welcome.
As example, as the last visit before today, a customer announced: "I will not be coming back." His complaint? He had asked the employee (pink smartphone, glasses) about his Senior Citizen Discount when he was seated. She did not address his question. When the bill came, this customer stated that he would pay the bill and never return.
Customer service like this loses customers.
Seeing the quality of the food decrease loses customers.
This restaurant has had great food and pretty good service in the past, but needs to pay attention to the details of retail.
