We were traveling home from Boston and stopped for lunch in Indianapolis. We picked Taste of Havana out of the hat and we could have not been luckier. We were met by friendliness and great humor as we ordered. We were even given a taste of the days specials to help us. The food we had was better then several places in Miami that I have eaten that was supposed to be Cuban food. The Cuban sandwich was perfect and flavorful. The peccadillo had many levels of great flavor. All in all if we are near Indianapolis again this will be a stop. Thank you for a great experience.

Visiting from out of town and saw all the great reviews about the restaurant. We were not disappointed. Best Cuban food we had ever had including southern Florida. We tried several different dishes and even took food home. The portions generous and the prices were low. The owner was very friendly and the place felt like we were at home. Save room for their incredible desserts and homemade flan. It will definitely be the restaurant we visit Indianapolis.

As soon as we walk in- we are welcomed and feel like we came to visit old friends. This place has limited seating est about 14 at a time. Me and my sister had lunch, I ordered the medianoche- it was soo good the bread was perfectly crisp & the pork tender tasty&the pickles mustard & cheese-just enough to accentuate and marry the flavors together. You have to order pastelito- i ordered the guava & cream cheese, soo nice and delicate i loved it! The family in this place is so genuine and make you want to keep coming back. This is cuban soul food and you can taste the quality and attention to detail!

Yes, plantains. They serve them, and they are good.

Staff (I believe the owner) was very friendly and helpful, explaining the different sandwiches and sides. I had a ham cuban, which was flavorful and juicy, and it even tasted good the next day. I tend not to eat huge portions, but their sub sizes are good for either a light snack (eat half) or a satiating meal.

The whole place is good. It's so wonderful to see a locally owned restaurant on the main drag of Broad Ripple for a change. The neighborhood association is always yammering on about Broad Ripple being local, blah-blah, but the majority of the places on Broad Ripple Av are chain bars, chain dive bars, and Starbucks.

But I digress.

This little gem is a family owned place with fast cuban subs and neat sides. The price is cheap, and it's great "on the go" food. You can dine-in or take out, but it is a small space, so, be prepared. It is convenient to all Broad Ripple has to offer, including a parking garage about a block away. So, if you fear parallel parking, this place is even better.

The owner is awesome, very friendly and accommodating. His Cuban sandwich is really good! I also had the vegetarian platter with rice, bean soup, and fried plantains (Also recommended). The restaurant is no frills but has everything you need to start or finish a night on Broad Ripple!
