“Best tacos and tamales in the mid-west”
Reviewed February 23, 2012

Tried another Guy Fieri joint. The place is very plain, located in the end of a strip center. Be ready to sit on picnic tables , the good my picky 12 & 10 loved the tacos. The chips and salsa was homemade too. The tamales looked good. They have a board the shows the inventor of tamales left for the day. I will go back when in the area. The area looked a little rough but I felt safe as we dined with three boys in blue.

“Awesome! We will be back!”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

I had already heard about this place so we were flying into INDY and I wanted to make sure we had time to stop by. We stopped on a Sunday about 12:15pm. There were probably 10 folks inside eating. It's a small place but very cozy. You walk up to a register and place your order. There is a big board next to the register letting you know what Tamales are available and the count of each. As you order they manually reduce the count. We ordered a spicy pork Tamale and a Chicken Chipotle Tamale. We also ordered two tacos carne asada, a fish taco and a pork taco. OMG. We should have just ordered ONE tamale and split it. They were BIG and filling! There were so many things that I wanted to try but no room in my stomache for one sitting. The tacos were EXCELLENT. Fresh, fresh, fresh! This is the only place that I have even been who has food like in MEXICO. I highly recommend!

“Best Tamales Ever”
Reviewed February 12, 2012

Just a little take out type place with seating for 15-20. Excellent food. WARNING, they have the biggest tamales i have ever seen. Just get 1 or 2 or the meal w/ 1. More than enough to fill you up. The come in many flavors and are made fresh every day. With out a doubt the best tamales iwe have ever had. Well worth the stop if your in the Indy area.

“Very Very Good.”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

This place was on the Food Network on Diners Drive Inns and Drives. And for good reason. The food is great. It is called the Tamale Place but the tamales are not the best thing on the menu. The tacos and tortas are even better.Plus the value is very good.

One piece of advice. They accept call ahead orders as they may not have the Tamale you want if you just walk in.
