“Great Food Poor Service”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

May family went here for Mother's Day Brunch. The buffet was wonderful. The music was very loud and we had a hard time communicating. The staff was slow and we had numerous plates stacked up. We had to ask for pillows to sit on because the chairs were so low to the table. I enjoy means there but they were under staffed for this special occasion.

“Great place to have a steak and wine”
Reviewed March 28, 2014 via mobile

I frequent Eddie's about once a month. It's a great place to grab a nice bottle of wine and a great steak! They carry both Darioush, Opus One and Wagyu Beef! Also, I highly recommend the tuna wontons.

“A feeble attempt at fine dining”
Reviewed March 15, 2014 via mobile

I came to Indianapolis to watch the Big 10 basketball tourney, and do a little dining. After being unable to get a table at St Elmo's, and
and specifically indicating that I was looking for a good wine list, I was steered to Eddie Merlot's. If this is what Indy/Carmel have to offer, god help them. This place has aspirations of being a fine dining establishment, but falls woefully short. The service is eager and attentive, but lacking training. Not their fault, blame the management. The food is OK to good, but certainly not worth the price. The disaster occurs in the wine program. When I go into a restaurant, and see the wine collection prominently displayed behind glass walls, I feel reasonable in assuming that the wine program is an important part of their business. Wrong! After reading through the list, and making a selection, I settled in anticipating my 2002 Jarvis Cab. 10 minutes go by before I was informed that they no longer had that wine in stock. OK, no problem, that happens. Pick #2. 5-10 minutes pass. Oops, don't have that one either. Annoying, but 3rd time is the charm. 5-10 more minutes. Entrees arrive... along with more bad news. Sorry, don't have that one either. Really?!? When did you do inventory and reprint your list? In 2010? While my Waygu ribeye was of good quality, and cooked to the correct temperature, it would have been better with some wine. And while lots of apologies, and comping selection #4 is appreciated, it doesn't overcome the fact that management is not pulling their weight. Their incompetence is bringing down the entire restaurant. Don't waste your time or money in this wannabe. Invest some time waiting at St Elmo's. You'll be far better rewarded.

“Romantic Dinner”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

The restaurant has a great atmosphere for a romantic dinner for two. Whether it is to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or just enjoying the company of your significant other.
The food is always impeccably prepared and presented with consistently fabulous flavors.
The wait staff are always very good and never try to rush you through your dinner but are still more than available whenever they are needed.
Eddie's has an extensive wine list that will complement every meal and meet anyone's expectations.
