Description: We are a family owned and operated authentic Greek restaurant. Specialties of the house include lamb, fresh fish, chicken, pastitsio, moussaka and many other Greek classics. Award winning, since opening over 10 years ago, SGK has a reputation of serving great food, in a pleasant, festive environment for reasonable prices. Chef owner, Taki Sawi is naturally talented when it comes to preparing and serving food, while co owner (and wife) Jeanette has a natural propensity for taking care of people... We have found this to be a unique combination! Located in historic Fountain Square, just minutes from downtown Indianapolis. We invite you to come and enjoy all we have to offer. See if you can taste the love we put into everything we serve. It's a great place to enjoy food, family and friends! Welcome from Taki and Jeanette

A large group of us ate here and we were treated like family. The food was AWESOME!! The kabobs, gyro, appetizers, desserts...everything was mouth watering. Perfect seasoning, taste, and the portions are large so pace yourself.

I will definitely be back with friends.

Very nice staff and the Saganaki is the best! The staff always has friendly smiles when you enter the restaurant and are quick to get you seated!

I visited with my family ( youngest daughter was flying back to CA in 2 hours)
and we HAD to eat at our favorite Greek restaurant. Whether day or night (night is more crowded) the food is always fresh and tasty. The service works hard to see you have a good visit--that means getting the order out when it's hot, checking if you need anything, etc. I really do feel like I've had a delicious Greacian meal when I leave.

My meal last night at this restaurant was very satisfying. The entree was served with a salad, rice, green beans, bread and potatoes. Nobody is going to leave this place hungry! Everything was delicious. We had a carafe of very palatable house wine for $15 for four people, and it was plenty. The waiter was most charming. Although the decor is plain, the place has a stimulating "vibe" to it.

friends told me this is IT. this is the best greek food in town. awards on the door. fav place of many. the area: fountain square, where fun is to be had.

then you enter, and all hope drops. one huge room, loveless white walls and a styrofoam ceiling, a few helpless decorations hanging around, and blue(!) neon lighting. it's loud, although we manage to score a table in a corner. i don't even want to know how it is in the middle of the room. but even in the corner, no flair whatsoever. i was ready to hate it.

but then comes the waiter, knows his food thoroughly, is friendly and nice, cracks a joke but doersn't try to be the clown, is easy going and personal.

the wine was excellent, the list could be larger, but what they have makes sense.

the food, however, is stellar. outright perfect. the lamb is tasty and sweet, the gyro juicy. the saganaki (grilled goat cheese, heated on the spot in a blazing flame) is delicious. the portion sizes are definitely grown up, and so we didn't have a chance to try their desserts. the seasoning is on the spot, and you can tell they make their food with the love one would expect from a greek family owned restaurant.

so, in short, give the room a break, it's well worth going, and the awards don't lie. it's really good.
