Owner description: Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre has been serving up food, fun and fabulous live entertainment for everyone since 1973. Located in College Park, the theatre was part of a chain of dinner theatres built by Louisville contractor J. Scott Talbott. It was called "Beef" because of the delicious hand carved roast beef served before the performances, and "Boards" referring to the boards or stage of a theatre. Today, the Indianapolis location is privately owned and the sole remaining Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, entertaining more than 150,000 theatergoers annually. Each season includes professional Broadway shows, plays and acclaimed children's theatre productions by our resident Pyramid Players. But a visit to Beef & Boards is more than just great theatre! We offer a tasty dinner buffet prepared by our in-house executive chef, plus a full-service bar and mouthwatering gourmet desserts. Be sure to stop by the Intermission gift shop for unique gift ideas, and ask about seeing more shows for less through our VIP membership program. Come see why each year more and more people discover the value and quality of Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre! Beef & Boards is a member of Actors' Equity Association, the only union for professional actors in legitimate theatre.

“Love the theatre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Food is always good and the productions are great! Would enjoy going more but time doesn't permit. There are just a few seats that I wouldn't want to sit in as it doesn't look as though they would have a good view of everything happening on stage.

“Buffet dinner followed by live theater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Wife and I went for our anniversary. Food is served buffet style with roast beef/prime rib at the end. The food is good, but not the quality you would expect at a gourmet restaurant. There was a good selection of foods.
We saw Arsenic and Old Lace which was performed wonderfully by seasoned actors and actresses. Very well done and lots of fun. There's not really any bad seats, but for best view of the play, you should reserve a table in the middle of the auditorium. Most tables are for 4 or 6 people, but there are some for 2 at an additional charge.
We are planning to return soon.

Good shows and food, if you like broadway productions but unable to go to the bigger city, this is a great venue. The price includes buffet and show. The buffet has chicken and fish with all of the normal food. The main items can change. Great for groups.

“Consistently good theater! But don't expect gourmet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We recently saw Chicago at the Beef & Boards, and were blown away. The production was fabulous. We don't go here often, but we are never disappointed. The buffet is never great, but that is not why we come. Good theater, intimate tables with good views affordable price is why we come. One peculiarity ... They don't take reservations online. You must call. Do it anyway!
