Description: Bluebeard is a restaurant and bar located in the historic Holy Rosary Neighborhood on the southeast edge of downtown Indianapolis. Abbi Merriss has joined up with longtime friends Tom and Eddie Battista to create a unique food-focused experience. The menu offers contemporary American cuisine featuring the best local produce and meat our farms have to offer. The space, a renovated 1924 factory warehouse, features a family dining room, a bar room, a private dining room, an upstairs event space, and a courtyard. Our menu varies daily – inspired by the freshest and finest ingredients. We believe food is meant for sharing, and these are the local farmers who have shared their ingredients with us: Big City Farms, Butler Campus Farms, Crossroad Vintners, FarmIndy, Fischer Farm, Full Hand Farm, Growing Places Indy, Gunthorp Farms, Harvestland, Josh Horrigan, Smoking Goose Meatery, South Circle Farm, Traders Point Creamery, and Viking Lamb.

Eclectic small venue perfect for an evening out. This restaurant is about the experience. You don’t go here wanting to rush out! We shared an appetizer and small dish which were both excellent! Wait staff was friendly and a great resource to explain the menu. Thanks for an evening out to celebrate our anniversary!

I loved everything about this meal. The service was great, the outdoor seating was wonderful. The menu options were varied and delicious. I would highly recommend the charcuterie board to start and the pork dishes were amazing. Great for groups, couples and a special night out.

I think the small, medium, and large plate offerings are a great idea, however I was disappointed with our experience. We were waiting and seated in the courtyard right after the restaurant opened its doors at 5 p.m. By 5:10 we had placed our order as we were traveling on from Indianapolis and the three of us shared all the dishes. The bread basket with three spreads and the chop salad arrived shortly thereafter and the chop salad was very good.

After inquiring a couple times with our waitress our entrees finally arrived shortly after 6:00 with an apology that they had taken so long but no explanation.
The rigatoni bolognese which, as described on the menu had no spicy ingredients, was spicy enough that I didn't want to attempt a second serving. The brussels sprouts
were very good.
I felt that the $5 charge for the bread basket was unnecessary and there was no offer to discount the price of the meal or perhaps comp the bread because of the very late delivery of the dinner.

Pegramj,
Thank you for taking the time to come in and write a review. I'm sorry that your meal took longer than expected to come to your table. We do consider ourselves a 'slow food' restaurant, as everything is cooked fresh to order. But, it sounds like your meal may have been pushing the limits. If in the future you are unsatisfied about any aspect of your meal, please let your server or the manager know, and we will do our best to make sure that you leave happy.

The menu is locally based, using whatever is in season in Indiana. Always unique and very delicious! The sugar cream pie is truly lovely. I like the interesting sandwiches at lunchq

We chose this place for the good reviews and even cause it seemed to be very very a nice and modern place. We had dinner outside and it was very pleasant. The portions were ridiculous - soo small - and it was certainly overpriced! 100$ for two plates and two desserts. The quality of the food wasn’t bad but I went back hungry so.. definitely not a place for dinners ;)

Dora,
Thank you ytaking the time to write a review. We are a farm to table restaurant, and we source the highest quality ingredients from as close to our restaurant as possible. It does take more time, and lot of care and effort, to create an entire menu from scratch every day, so we charge what we consider a reasonable price for the quality of food we produce.
