Loved this beautiful park with a wonderful loop around the river, through a sculpture garden and ultimately the Indianapolis Zoo. Lots of art work and then you can branch off to the separate 3 mile Canal Walk which is almost as nice, but wonderfully enjoyable. Bring good walking shoes!

Pedestian, bike and Segway (yes, do take the tour) friendly, this park seemlessly ties the city, sports parks, river, zoo, arboretum and more together. Other cities should take note on how to do it right. Locals must really love it too, because there was not a bit of trash to be seen.

We lvoe to walk around the White River State Park. I would recommend this to everyone. You can rent bicycles, paddle boats, etc. to work your way around the canal.

Kinda found it by accident, just threw on my running shoes and headed out. Beautiful park to walk, run, sit. Runs along the canal and crosses the river. Even saw people tending a communal garden. Felt very safe.

I stayed two nights, with the first night seeing Bob Dylan in concert at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park. Another $20, back and forth. I do not see the need for a car in this area as there is nothing of interest. The state park is fine and turns into the city with a bit more activity. If you see a concert at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn, just buy the lawn seat... they give you a chair and you then sit wherever you want. I bought seats in a closed off section in front of the stage, but it was so cramped. I would have been fine sitting off to the side wherever I wished.
