Who would think that such a simple sandwich could be so good! The first time I looked at the menu I thought, "No sauce or lettuce? Hmmm..." The meats are amazingly prepared and don't need any sauce. Every time we are downtown we stop to eat or grab a sandwich to take to the park. Tiny place with absolutely delicious sandwiches. For about $10 per person you are stuffed and satisfied.

“Wonderful”

I am almost hesitant to write a review of this great place for fear that it will be overrun by the masses but the food is so good that it deserves a shout out.

Run by a husband and wife team, the menu is mostly limited to an array of exceptional Mexican sandwiches served on telera bread. Many are named for Latin entertainers. The Megan Fox, for example, is a tasty blend of chorizo, flattened chicken breast, avacado, peppers, and queso blanco. The Cubana is a massive sandwich made with everything save a home angioplasty kit.

A limited taco menu is also available. The chorizo taco is exceptional. Two corn tortillas with chorizo, cilantro, and onion. I add a little salsa verde to it. Perfect.

With only 6 tables the place can fill up fast at noon, especially on Fridays. They are expanding into the space next door so that should help with the crowds.

This is the kind of independent restaurant that the city should support.
