Description: When you come dine with us, this is what you'll experience... A little history, a lot of art, and above all incredible food! Our goal at The Library is to delight you with the very best foods and the very best service we can provide. Our specialty is fine steaks and exceptional food that is freshly prepared by our very talented kitchen team. We offer an extensive dinner menu including steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta, salads, and vegetarian dishes. At lunch, a bountiful, freshly-prepared salad, soup and pasta bar is offered along with a wide variety of sandwiches and daily specials. All our cuisine is only complimented with our extensive wine selection. We are located in a beautiful building, which once was the Mon Reve, an exclusive French restaurant built by the late Lou Jenn (founder of Jenn-Air) almost three decades ago. Fortunately, much of the building's grandeur has been retained for us to enjoy, from Venus' Fountain and rose garden, restored vintage crystal chandeliers, beautiful woodwork, and classical oil paintings. Recently, we have added a large patio for our guests to enjoy the outdoors, we have opened our beautiful "Upstairs at The Library" for banquets, private dining, and business meetings, and we have recently opened our beautiful new bar, complete with large screen TV's and original oil paintings of Indy's favorites - the Colts, Indy 500, Brickyard 400, and Moto GP. We look forward to serving you.

We were getting so unhappy not being able to find so many of the museums, restaurants, and activities the Indy tourist website told us was in this part of the City that finding this restaurant was pure luck. It was interesting on the outside but inside it was a charming mixture of elegance and academic facade.

The library part wasn't real when we visited, the books were mere wallpaper but it would house one quite well. The dining space has large paintings and windows as well as very comfortable seating.

Our waiter was very helpful and the meal was flawless including the desserts that we just had to take most of back to the B&B where our hostess allowed us to store it until we wanted it later. For our two days stay in the western side of Indy this was the one thing that really made us feel like we were on an anniversary celebration.

Went here for business dinner with 3 colleagues. I had a marvelous house salad with bleu cheese and a bowl of ok french onion soup. Other meals at the table were well received. The table bread was strange and old. No decent beers, the waitress didn't know the difference between light and regular beer. I know Indiana is a dry state but, c'mon man! My friends' glasses of wine were $10 each. Does this place think its in California or what? Atmosphere was great, lots of old guys talking very loudly about how successful they are.

We booked the restaurant for a wedding and reception. They were very accommodating for allowing us to set up the room and decorate it for a small wedding. After the ceremony, they discretely moved the tables into position for the meal and served refreshments.

The food was very good and service was excellent. The staff were courteous and attentive but not intrusive.

They did it well.

We were staying at a local hotel. They suggested The Library... Very good choice. When we fly out of Indy again, we'll eat here.
