“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

My wife and I just spent 11 nights at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis. We travel a great deal so hotel stays are part of our life. But our stay here was exceptional. What stood out the most was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, from the welcomes outside the entrance, to the lobby staff, to the restaurant staff. And our room was special. We were lucky enough to get a corner room, so had terrific views on two sides through the floor to ceiling windows.

Room Tip: Get a corner room if possible, the higher the better.

This was definitely worth the money. 5 stars all the way from the room to the accommodations.

Room Tip: Upper floors are the best for the views

Friendly staff, easy check in and good onsite food/drink options. Close enough to downtown to walk around which you should absolutely do. It was my first time in Indianapolis and because it was a short trip (overnight) I appreciated the nice room, comfortable bed and having onsite options since there wasn't much time to spare. The self-park at $28/night was high.

I stayed at this hotel for a convention. The hotel is nice, very upscale. But it is a Marriott- not that there is anything wrong with Marriotts, I actually like them and I like knowing exactly what I am going to get when I stay there, what the beds will feel like and the level of service to expect.

The hotel overall is brand new and beautiful, but what made this stay exceptional was the staff. During my four-day stay, staff was everywhere either cleaning, directing people or just being friendly and stopping to chat. The wait staff and bartenders were very accomodating, the concierge always ready to give directions and provide maps or ideas of where to go and everything was immaculate even though there were nearly 1,000 of us running around at any given time.

So yes, it was a nice, typical Marriott, but if you like Marriott and the level of service they consistently provide, then you will love this hotel.

Stayed here for Pokemon Nationals for the 2nd year in a row. And yes, I payed extra for the concierge level. The JW's concierge is really really good! From breakfast, drinks (regular and alcoholic), snacks, desserts, free computer/internet usage…etc, it is worth every penny. And the service up top is fantastic! Everyone was friendly, got to know your name and why you were in Indianapolis, showed interest in what your family was doing and just overall, really nice.
Our room was large with a king bed and then we used a rollaway for our son. Unfortunately, I got sick during the trip so I used the rollaway while my husband and son use the bed so I didn't "infect" them. The rollaway was perfectly fine for a grown adult.
If Pokemon has Nationals in Indianapolis again, we will book here in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Always ask for a high level room! The view from this JW is great!

We came for a family reunion....and we were treated to two nights in the hotel as part of the reunion. We liked the hotel alot....the views were wonderful, the rooms quite pleasant and the beds comfortable with the upscale duvet. Nice bathroom too. Room service was over priced but parking was OK given the location. What's fantastic about this hotel is where its located....near shopping, museums, the water, the Stadiums. We were bowled over by the excellent location. We didn't order breakfast because we had it in the Reunion Hospitality Suite....but what they ordered there was excellent.

Room Tip: We had a handicapped room because my husband has Parkinsons. It was a good room and worked for both...

We have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel three times in the last several months. Each time the service has been excellent, clearly the result of a sophisticated training program. From the reception staff that greets you from the "customer side" of the reception desk to the valet and bar staffs, the personnel are friendly, efficient and professional. The hotel itself is extremely well appointed, with a great lobby bar (the only real big city lobby bar in downtown Indianapolis), and attractive, well furnished rooms. Ask for a higher floor room with impressive views over the city.

Room Tip: Higher floors have fabulous views.
