“Spend a delightful weekend right in the middle of Indianapolis' attractions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

We came for a family reunion....and we were treated to two nights in the hotel as part of the reunion. We liked the hotel alot....the views were wonderful, the rooms quite pleasant and the beds comfortable with the upscale duvet. Nice bathroom too. Room service was over priced but parking was OK given the location. What's fantastic about this hotel is where its located....near shopping, museums, the water, the Stadiums. We were bowled over by the excellent location. We didn't order breakfast because we had it in the Reunion Hospitality Suite....but what they ordered there was excellent.

Room Tip: We had a handicapped room because my husband has Parkinsons. It was a good room and worked for both...

We have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel three times in the last several months. Each time the service has been excellent, clearly the result of a sophisticated training program. From the reception staff that greets you from the "customer side" of the reception desk to the valet and bar staffs, the personnel are friendly, efficient and professional. The hotel itself is extremely well appointed, with a great lobby bar (the only real big city lobby bar in downtown Indianapolis), and attractive, well furnished rooms. Ask for a higher floor room with impressive views over the city.

Room Tip: Higher floors have fabulous views.

I spent more than a week here during a huge heatwave in July. The hotel is new and well-appointed. It is connected by an air bridge to the Conference Center and across the street from Victory Field and all of the museums in the area.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent wi-fi. The bathroom is comfortable and well-designed. There are ample electrical outlets to charge all of the devises that seem to have proliferated in one's briefcase.

The Italian restaurant in the lobby of the hotel is excellent and moderately priced. The sports bar food was a little more pedestrian, but it's a sports bar so expectations shouldn't be too high.

The healthclub had all the top of the line machines. The pool was pleasant, if small.

The service personnel at the hotel were uniformly helpful, friendly and polite.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and you will have a beautiful view on either side--to the east the city to the...

I was here for a convention, but came in early to spend a couple days with friends. The rooms are average size, but gorgeous! I loved the floor to ceiling picturesque windows...and didn't see a bad view from any of the rooms I got to visit! There's a desk area, but a table on wheels that I was able to move around the room, which was convenient for Convention preparation.
The hotel was walking distance to EVERYTHING!!! The mall was a few blocks away and could be reached by skywalks as well as the street. The museums and parks were right there and I looked out at Lucas Oil Stadium from my room. Victory Field (AAA Baseball) was right outside!
I was able to see the suite Madonna stayed in for the Super Bowl and it was stunning! The beds were sooo comfortable. There were hair dryers, a great TV, amazing HDMI plugins for my computer, and a lot of space on the vanity in the bathroom. I love when hotels give me a robe to use!
I appreciated that there were green practices (sheet changing after 3 days, when requested, or when you check out), towels laundered if you put them on the ground, etc.
There are GREAT restaurants and bars on the ground level, a Starbucks (!!!) on level 2, and wonderful service from the front desk.
The cabbie was upsetting me when I arrived, but the bellman was right there to make sure all was well!
As for the Convention portion: great bathrooms (clean and lots of them), the best food I've ever had at a convention/hotel (900 women to feed is tough), and beautiful accommodations. At no point did we feel cramped!

The downsides/areas of opportunity: the servers at our meals (convention) need to bring coffee ASAP or leave it on the table...that took too long. Also, internet is free downstairs, but costs $13/day in your room. Also, there are 2 sets of elevators. 1 set takes you to floors 1-4 or 23-33. To get to floors 5-22, you have to take a different set. So I had to switch elevators a lot since we went to each others' rooms for meetings.

Overall, a WONDERFUL hotel!

Room Tip: Stay away from room's ending in "23" (i.e. 523)...it's right at the elevators, but...

Thank you so much for this wonderful post. I appreciate your feedback regarding the banquet coffee service, and will bring this to the attention of our team. I also appreciate your comments regarding the Internet charge. Currently Marriott does require a fee at their full service properties. To give our guests an option, we offer complimentary wireless in the lobby and restaurants. Please be assured that when this policy is changed, we will change it here at the property level. Thanks again for your feedback, and we'll look forward to your return. Scott Blalock, General Manager

I really enjoyed staying here for a friend's birthday! The rooms were very nice-clean, modern, with a slightly asian feel to the decor. I traveled with my husband and another couple, and we were not able to get 2 King rooms, so we had 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. Not my preference, but it worked out just fine. We had breakfast at one of the on site restaurants and it was wonderful. Will definitely be back!

Here right now for a conference. The room is average hotel room size but furnishings are slightly upscale. Bed is very comfortable, although the duvet cover does make one a little warm at night. The TV remote is somewhat challenging, but for my stay thats OK since I am spending little time in the room. The bathroom is again average size, but plenty of room around the sink. shampoos and soaps provided are of good quality, and the shower is great with a few extra nozzles. Plenty of warm soft towels.

Staff here has learned their "Its my pleasure" (just like sister company Ritz Carlton) lessons very well. Always with a smile and willingness to help. Even the voice in the elevator sounds the same as a recent RC stay...lol!!!

Location is absolutely ideal for downtown. Enclosed walkways to the convention center. Across the street from a minor league ballpark. Lucas Oil stadium a block away.

In house restaurants (reviewed separately) have been very good. Overall a very happy camper....now let me get back to trying to figure out the remote!

My wife and I stayed for our anniversary. We asked for a high floor room and we were given a beautiful corner room on the 33rd floor with a view overlooking downtown. We watched the fireworks right from our room. The executive lounge was great for breakfast, beverages, & snacks throughout the day. We had lunch at the sports bar restaurant off the lobby and slept peacefully on Marriott's signature bedding. What a wonderful weekend trip thanks to the JW Marriott!
