Stayed at this Marriott while in Indianapolis for a conference and it was first class in nearly all respects. The hotel is located in the heart of the downtown area, just a few blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium, the convention center and right next to a minor league baseball stadium.

I was immediately welcomed by the staff and the interior of the hotel and its facilities were very nice and well-kept. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub and a large, well-equipped work out area. My room was on the 29th floor giving me a great view of the river and the adjacent IUPUI campus. The Italian restaurant on the first floor was excellent and they also have a sports bar with lots of room to sit and socialize and above average bar food.

My room was very nice and large, lots of room to spread out and work or relax. The furniture and decorations are also nice and well-kept. Overall, this is an extremely nice hotel, a definite step above most others.

Room Tip: Overlooking the river from a high room was very nice.

Have stayed here many times this year on business and thought it was time to write a review. This hotel is awesome and by far my favorite in Indianapolis. The staff is top shelf. The hotel is new, rooms are great and the concierge floor is one of the best I've ever experienced. The gym is better than most health clubs. Just thought you should know... Don't stay anywhere else in Indy... this hotel takes First Place!

Room Tip: Concierge Floor if you can... won't disapoint. Views are best in the city.

A friend and I stayed here Halloween weekend. Quite simply one of the best Marriotts where I have stayed. The lobby, common spaces and rooms are tastefully designed. Rooms are more spacious than at most marriotts, and we had an excellent view of the white river park. Concierge lounge was fully stocked, had excellent view of downtown, and best of all is open on weekends. One of the best hotel fitness rooms I have seen. And paid under $100 a night, and were even comped for the valet parking. Staff was very friendly, no line at check in. Definitely would stay again any time I am in Indy.

This is easily one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are nice, clean, and decorated beautifully. The hotel is conveniently located downtown. My only complaint is the restaurant recommendations the concierge gave were very touristy. You're much better off searching the internet for places to eat and see.

I stayed at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis for a conference in October. It was an excellant stay! The staff was very professional and friendly - especially the front desk staff. Rooms were well appointed and cozy. Everything in the hotel sparkled with newness. The hotel was also within walking distance to downtown restaurants and entertainment.

I used the Indy Go shuttle from the airport and was quite impressed. Reasonably priced and very convenient - drops off and picks up right across the street.

I'm having a hard time finding something to complain about at this hotel. Overall the hotel gets 5 stars, their restaurants would be a bit lower (more on them below). My room was great- very new, quiet, nice linens, very comfy mattress, great shower/tub and amenities. Free wifi throughout the hotel. I had a city view room which was awesome. But even the other side is nice with views of the White River. See pics. Hotel is only 9 months old I think. Only thing that would have made it even better would be a fridge and microwave.

If you're going to a convention or a game the location is awesome. It's connected to the convention center, which is connected to Lucas Oil Stadium, several other hotels, and the mall downtown. You don't even have to go outside, which is great in bad weather. Also walking distance to the minor league stadium, all museums, downtown, movie theatre, White River state park, and the zoo.

The staff was so helpful, polite, always smiling and friendly. There are 3 restaurants and a central bar. High Velocity is a sports bar with tons of TVs, every major sporting even was on. Food was just so so but service was excellent. Osteria Pronto is Italian. Not the best ever but pretty good, had their minestrone soup twice it was so good, and the gnocchi was pretty good. You can have a drink at the central bar area and order take out from Osteria Pronto. That was a nice option to room service. I didn't try the last place.

Had room service breakfast one day and it was awesome. The fresh fruit plate was huge and delicious. 3 kinds of berries, two kinds of melons, pineapple, grapes, and yogurt.

Starbucks on the second floor next to the walkway to the convention center.

I did a lot of walking and dining in other hotels. From what I see the JW is the newest and nicest. There are actually 3 Marriotts in a row, so make sure you pick the right one, the other two look a bit old. Went to Shula's in the other Marriott for lunch, pretty good. Went to the Capital Grill twice in the Conrad, really good.

I attended a conference at the JW Marriott on 10/24/11 and 10/25/11, spending the night in one of the rooms on the 9th floor with a great view of the Indianapolis skyline. The hotel has been open since February 2011.

The remarkable experience about staying at the JW Marriott was the fact that virtually every employee that I interacted with greeted me or offered to provide assistance in some way. The staff goes out of its way to make guests feel welcome, to the point that the reception desk personnel stand in front of their desks to greet arriving guests.

I arrived at 3 PM and was checked in within a matter of minutes. I opted to self-park my car in the below ground parking garage, and the self-park fee was $23/day.

My room had two queen sized beds and I expected it to just bit larger. An easy chair and side table next to the desk left little space between the chair and the bed to navigate to the window and its great view. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.

There was wired and wireless internet access available in the room for a $12 or $16 per day additional charge (based on two levels of access). Interestingly, there were video connections on the side of the desk that allowed the user to connect their electronics directly to the flat screen TV in the room.

The conference facilities were impressive and met the needs of the organization.

The hotel is located about three blocks from many of Indianapolis' great restaurants near Illinois and Maryland streets, and it's connected to the Convention Center and other hotels by the enclosed Skybridge that runs across downtown Indy. It's also just blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium and across the street from Victory Field, the AAA baseball team's home in Indy.

My only hiccup at the JW Marriott was that my room key would not open the parking gate on my departure. Unfortunately, there is no attendant at the exit, so I had to run back to the front desk and they quickly gave me a new key to open the gate.

A great experience in the end, and I would return for either business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side of the building have a great view of downtown Indy.
