This is a really nice hotel. The service was amazing. Each staff member we encountered really made us feel welcomed and invited. We spent a long weekend at this hotel and the lobby is always busy no matter what time of day. As big as the hotel is the pool area was unusually quiet in the morning, which was nice. Location is 10 minutes walking distance to most downtown shopping and dining. The closest CVS/Walgreens is a little farther and closes at 7pm. Parking is convenient but a little high at $28 a day. You need a room key to go up the elevator - it's good for security but can be annoying if everyone in your group doesn't have their own key.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the city have a great view on the higher floors.

The amazing JW Marriott is the leading edge of a serious makeover of Indianapolis. Could have sworn I was in an international city with best of class amenities and services. Great welcoming professionals. After checking in I was escorted to the elevators and given a tour of the hotel's restaurants, bars, and other amenities. The hotel room was very clean and the decor and feel was definitely 4 stars. The banquet food was great. The ambiance was first class. And so while Indianapolis has a ways to go in its makeover, the JW Marriott gives the rest of the city a model to follow. Rock On!

Very clean and well maintained hotel. Rooms are nice, but average sized. Shower was excellent. Pool is small, but gym is very nice. Upgrading to include the evening reception and breakfast is well worth it. The staff here are terrific.

Amazing new hotel in a great location of downtown Indy. The views from the hotel are great, but by far the hospitality and friendliness of the staff was the best part of the hotel. They bent over backward to help my wife with something. A great hotel, and I would definitely stay here again.

I've had the pleasure of staying at this location twice since it's opening in early 2011 and both visits have been wonderful. From the time you walk in you know you are in someplace special. The staff actually walks out from behind the individual desks to greet you and check you in, and the walks you to the elevators and directs you to your room and amenities.

The rooms are beautiful and many feature views of White River park, the baseball field, and the local museums. The hotel is within walking distance of all the local attractions, and if it's a rainy day you can take the covered skywalks to Circle Center Mall.

Be sure to check out the fitness center. The exercise bikes feature video screens that are similar to video games where you can track your progress, and the chilled towels (two temperatures are available!) are a great refresher at the end of your workout. The complimentary disposable earbuds are also a nice touch.

I've stayed in many locations in Indianapolis including the Westin and the older Marriott, and this is the best by far.

We stayed at the Indianapolis JW Marriott for a weekend on our anniversary. With the property being so new I did not know what to expect. The employees were the most helpful and friendly that I have ever run across. I travel for a living and stay at at least 50 hotels per year and was surprised at what I experienced at this property. The Italian restaurant was great and had pricing comperable to local restaurants instead of being overpriced like most hotel restaurants. I look forward to my next stay at this hotel.

This brand new hotel has created significant excess hotel capacity in downtown Indianapolis. It is better than competing hotels and may be triggering a price war in the area. I booked at $129 with a group discount, a great non-Priceline non-Hotwire price for a hotel of this quality.

Location: This hotel is adjacent to the Indianapolis convention center and football stadium and is on the local transit system express shuttle bus route to and from the airport.
Suggestion: Take the Indygo Green express from the airport for 7 bucks instead of taking a taxi for $30. If you ask the driver to drop you off across the street from the JW on the way in (at the start of the loop through the city) and catch the shuttle at the JW on the way back (at the end of the loop through the city), the travel time is about the same.

Rooms: My room was clean and well furnished with desk/pullout computer table, comfortable chair, large screen TV, and normal amenities coffee/tea, bathroom with tub. Bed was large and comfortable.
Suggestion: Request a room facing east for a nice city view and wake up to rising sun.

Service and food: The front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. On premises restaurant was slightly overpriced with standard items characteristic of decent convention hotels.
Suggestion: If you want to escape from the convention bubble, head one mile to Shapiro’s Deli for classic corned beef on rye, pastrami, matzoball soup and local color. I know – a New York Deli in Indy is not plausible, but this is a local favorite. Or walk a half mile to Palomino’s, a midlevel chain with a mix of items, from local cheeses through standard Italian fare to steaks and seafood.
