The room smelled musty when I came in and stayed that way the entire time. The bedding and carpet felt damp. The "comforter" is thinand ineffective. The conditioner is loud - one of those wall models that don't really regulate temperature. TV picture quality is terrible.

For the same price as the Motel 6 we stayed at in Speedway last year ($99). The Motel 6 was a hole, but close to track and tailgating in the courtyard was actually pretty fun. It no longer exists. Hyatt Place had a nice pool to hang out at, the suite was very nice. Leather couch, wet bar area, roomy. Shower/toilet room a little cramped, but no big deal. Nice breakfast, and if needed a little bar that serves simple meals and drinks. Staff was very pleasant. Would stay again for the race next year but it is unfortunately booked. Will pursue in following years though.

We have stayed here the past two years while attending the Indy 500. The hotel is bright, modern and clean. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed for the price. The location is very convenient, close to a freeway interchange that allows quick access to any direction. There is a very nice pool and food/beverages are available 7/24, which is really convenient. The breakfast buffet is plentiful, and the hot selections change so you aren't faced with the same breakfast every day. In addition, it is possible to walk to/from the Speedway in about 2 hours if don't want to deal with the hassles of parking and major event traffic. Added bonus: they're pet friendly!

We attended the Indypendence Day concert downtown in 2013 and were looking for a last minute place to stay. After I called the downtown Hyatt (since we were a block away and already parked in the garage connecting the Hyatt and the mall) they decided to hike their price quite a bit and refused to give me the rate online, so I kept searching and found Hyatt Place at the Indianapolis Airport. What a gem!!! The lobby and rooms are both beautiful with very modern furnishings. The rate was about $99 plus tax, even on July 4th and the room was fantastic. We had two beds and a bathroom on one side, and a large living area with a comfy sectional couch and ottoman, desk and chair and a wet bar on the other. In the middle was the dresser and on top of that was a HUGE tv that could be tilted to face either the living area or bed area. It had tons of hookups which would be great for a longer stay.
The breakfast in the morning was so awesome I was shocked that it was included in the room price! It was much more like a buffet than a typical free hotel breakfast. Continental items as well as freshly prepared waffles and hot breakfast sandwiches. Very yummy! The "real" plates, cups and silverware are a nice touch also. The staff was very welcoming and the front desk had convenience items and snacks for purchase, as well as pastries that we didn't try but looked great!
Will definitely try to stay here again in the future!!

I have stayed at this hotel on Indianapolis 500 weekend for the past three years and despite an always busy lobby with demanding cliental the staff could not be nicer and try to accommodate all requests no matter how ridiculous.

We stayed here 3 nights. We went to Indianapolis for the Indy Grand Prix Race. We wanted some place quiet & it was although near the airport. It was out of the city which was a plus for us. We had a king room/suite. It was nice not to have to sit on the bed to watch TV but the pull-out couch really needed to be updated as it was very uncomfortable as was the bed. I should have complained about it in retrospect but it didn't really seem uncomfortable until the last night. I did complain about one of the bed-side lamps & that was fixed. There was a large variety items for breakfast including 3 skillet items.

This wasn't the first time I've stayed at an updated Hyatt and it won't be the last. As always, the stay was pleasant. I was hoping to get something closer to the city but most hotels were booked because of the Indy half marathon (05/03/14). Because I was familiar with the location, I drove over and they were able to accommodate me on the spot. The staff, as always, was extremely friendly upon check-in and made strides to have a conversation and make me feel at home. The room, with double beds and a sofa coach, was affordable and super clean. The adjustable LG flat screen and fridge were also a plus. As far as surroundings, there isn't much in the area (at least in terms of bars) but there is a gas station across the street with alcohol if you're looking to have a few before trekking to the city. That said, the accessible location (near the airport) provides for an abundance of cabs. We even had luck with an Ubër, which only set me and a friend back about $16 to get to the north end of the city (about a 10 mile drive). Next time I'm in Indy...I'll definitely be back!
