Fell in love with Hyatt Place Indianapolis Airport. Room was awesome, spacious and wall mounted flat screen tv that you could see from the bed or the sofa. The room was very clean. Front desk was super!!!! Our flight was so early, we missed the contiential breakfast. Shuttle service was prompt. We will be staying here again!!!!

This newer hotel is very clean and the rooms are nicly appointed. Shuttle to airport and continential breakfast. But it is not the cheapest hotel. All the airport hotels around indy seem to be charging for more than your stay parking. However we did get these guys to let our car stay here for a week eventhough we only stayed one night. Try the greek island restaurant near downtown 5 miles away.

We've never had a bad experience at any Hyatt Place, and we will continue to stay at these properties. There are five of us, so the large rooms are wonderful, and this property was like others: clean and with a courteous staff. The only downside was that the pool is outside and closed for the winter. The price was very low...and only about 10 minutes from downtown Indy...and only about two miles from the Tamale Place...where everyone MUST eat when in Indy.

I've stayed here 4 times this month. And have encountered the following each time. Shower temperature fluctuates drastically.. Sink water takes 10 minutes to get warm enough to shave. The wifi keeps cutting out, no matter which room you're in. And one of the elevators has been out all month, increasing wait times. Other than that, the beds are comfy, there is a free breakfast (although the only free protein would be milk), and the staff is friendly.

I've stayed in Hyatt Places several times before, and been quite pleased. This time, however, there were a few things that just didn't hold up as well.

1) The breakfast service was terrible. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to get a basic omelette from a limited menu. Their computer-order system at this property means that you have to pre-pay for the food without ever seeing an individual - you can't even tell if the cook is working. We had to ask someone at the desk twice before we got our food, and this delay ended up causing us to be late for our customer appointment. By itself, this is enough to keep me from ever staying here again. Bottom line - either go back to a buffet or to real servers who can tell you if they can't deliver in a reasonable time, so you can just move on to your business day in a timely manner.

2) I understand the desire to use shampoo dispensers instead of individual bottles - it's a cost-cutting measure that really doesn't cause a problem for most customers. However, "bath gel" isn't soap. Finding out that there is no bar soap in the bathroom at 6:30 AM is NOT pleasant, and a little sign stating it's available at the front desk is worthless. Who is really going to get dressed to go down to the front desk so that they can come back upstairs to get undressed and take a shower? The sign saying it's a "green" practice is just insulting - go ahead and at least admit it's a cost-cutting measure and be honest about it - or better yet, just put the soap back into the bathrooms.

3) Toilet paper in the rooms - unusable. About 2" narrower than a standard roll, and so thin as to be worthless for its intended use. 'Nuff said.

4) Why would a hotel spend so much money on large-screen TVs in the rooms, then have them set up with the format incorrect so that everything is either squished or fuzzy? That's just a lack of attention to detail, and should have been handled when they were installed. It doesn't cost any more to get this sort of thing right.

This hotel was exactly as it should be - clean, friendly, fairly spacious with simply decorated rooms. Don't expect the Hyatt Regency and you may be quite pleased.

However - the heating system was incredibly loud and the fan could not be kept on constantly, causing it to loudly restart throughout the night. It was seriously loud - every fifteen minutes or so it sounded like the Indy 500 itself was coming to the room! It would not have been so bad if the noise were steady but the on and off was incredibly annoying.

Too bad - it is actually a cool little hotel and the rooms were quite nice, but in the end, at an airport hotel it's all about getting a good night's sleep and that was not possible.

I usually try to avoid airport hotels, but this time circumstances forced me into it. We were arriving late into IND and I wasn't familiar enough with the area to want to drive around late at night. So my goal was to find someplace decent close to the airport and with on-site food for hungry travelers. When we landed at the airport and found all of the food places already locked up and rain pouring down outside, I was especially glad I'd thought of that part.
We found the hotel fairly easily (although warning to travelers leaving IND--there's MAJOR construction in that area with lane closures all over the place). The people at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. When we asked about food, they suggested that we place our order and they would prepare it while we put our bags in our room. This worked well--the food was hot and surprisingly good when we came back downstairs, and the small on-site bar was a welcome surprise.
The best part of the hotel, however, was the comfortable and spacious room we stayed in. The door opened up to a "living area" part with a couch, small bar area with a coffee maker and refrigerator, and an ample desk. Beyond this was a sizeable area with the beds, which were extremely comfortable. A large TV was centered so that it could be viewed from either area. The entire room was modern-looking and very clean.
In short, if this is what airport hotels are like, I may have to rethink my position on avoiding them!
