“Great service”
Reviewed March 26, 2010

We stayed for two nights and the service was great. When we went for breakfast o Friday morning we got down a little late and there was a long line. The cook Lassandra, was really hustling to get people thru the line and did a wonderful job at getting the breakfast made correctly! This is a great place to stay and would advise anyone to check the Embassy Suites out

I was on a business trip last week from Monday through Thursday. A bunch of us from all over the country stayed at the embassy Suites in No. Indianapolis, IN. Aside from all the staff being so kind with a professional attitude I remember specifically the morning breakfast cook Cassandra being very friendly and accomodating, which made mornings much more pleasurable for us all.
Thank you so much to you all.

This is a first rate business hotel from the word go. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the breakfast is excellent, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and there's rarely anyone in the pool/hot tub, so it's nice to relax. The open courtyard is a very nice area for eating, holding a small impromptu meeting if needed, or just to plan your day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Indianapolis.

We did a family getaway, and chose Embassy Suites due to a previous fantastic experience in another city. This one did not compare! The room was small and a bit shabby (stains on sofa cushions, etc.) The design of the hotel makes for a very noisy experience in the room (large open atrium and all rooms glass fronted.) There was NO hot water in the morning due to a boiler breakdown. The hotel calls in extra security on the weekends to deal with the crowds of families, which seems like a bad omen. Too many people taking advantage of the free cocktails makes for encounters with drunks in the elevator. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Desk staff were friendly, however other staff were non-committal (my previous experience included very friendly staff at all points in the hotel.)

Dear ILTraveler012

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am always concerned when one of our guests has a less than satisfactory stay. I apologize for the noise and lack of hot water you encountered. One of our boilers did go down that morning but we did have it repaired by that afternoon.

i was happy to read that you were treated well by our Front Desk team.

I hope you will give us another try if your travels bring you back to the Indianapolis area.

Sincerely,
Mark Parnella

When we checked in and went to our room, the first thing we noticed was a mound of garbage piled near the elevator. This was several garbage bags, obviously left by a housekeeper as they performed other duties. When we left a couple of hours later for dinner, the garbage was still there, although it was finally removed a couple of hours after that.

The second issue we had was that the individual shampoo/conditioner bottles had already been opened and used; new ones were not provided until I asked the front desk for some.

Other complaints include: the pool was colder than it should have been, there was a stain on the sheet for the pullout sofa, and the hotel was loud (this is a complaint of design though: atrium style hotels usually are louder.)

Internet access is noted as free on embassysuites.com for this hotel, but there was a 9.95 charge.

The front desk was very pleasant and accommodating, and the lady working the omelet station at breakfast was amazing (fast and efficient, but fun too.

All in all though, I would not recommend this hotel. It does not live up to the Embassy name.

Generally you stay at an Embassy Suites for the "Suite factor". While I did get a 2 room suite, the front room was tiny and the bathroom was only accessible from the bedroom. Luckily I was there alone, but if I was with my family of 4 it would have been a problem. I have stayed at other Embassy Suites before with more spacious rooms. No free wireless internet.

Otherwise the hotel is nice and the included breakfast is great. It is a bit expensive to stay in this area, and the Embassy is one of the more affordable choices. It is near the Hyatt and the Westin, close to the new Convention Center and restaurants in Downtown Indy. Be sure and check out the "Rhythm Discovery Center", America's only museum devoted entirely to drumming.

We stayed at this Embassy Suites for 3 nights over Christmas with lots of family members--I think we had 10 rooms in all. It was great because it wasn't very crowded due to the holidays. Our family gets together every year in Indy and we have tried several hotels in the area. The room fit my family of 5 without being too crowded and they have microwaves and a little fridge. Nice to be able to put the kids to bed and shut the divider door and hang out and watch tv. The omelets at breakfast were very tasty and there was enough variety in the buffet to keep everyone happy. The pool is pretty small and the hot tub wasn't really hot, but the littler kids still had fun playing. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. This place is great for the price and we would definitely go back.
