We visited on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and expected to have to share space, but that was not the case at all! We were there around lunch time and there was plenty of free street parking between the memorial and the obelisk (sorry, not sure of the street name). Walked right in, were greeted by wonderful classical music, and wandered around the museum with our kids (ages 6 and 7) for almost two hours! Things were set up so that younger kids could read and understand things at their level and there were more detailed descriptions for those who were interested (and could read more!).
The pride in the artifacts was apparent and the various types of presentations (some documents, some models/ mannequins, some recorded speeches/ music, some photographs, etc.) spoke to various eras. We have been to Indy before, but this was our first visit. You could impress several generations with a visit here!
