Bought tickets online ahead of time and printed at home which may save you sometime waiting in lines on a busy day. The parking garage was nearly full when we arrived at 11:30 a.m. Parking is free. Visited with sons 10 and 14-years old. This is a great Children’s Museum but I stress the word “children.” My 14-year old was pretty bored and most of the activities were too young even for my 10-year old. Favorites were the free arcade, the mirror maze, and the dinosaur exhibit. We ate lunch there and there was a good selection with healthy options. Would highly recommend for families with kids under 10.

We visited the museum for the first time yesterday to get our kids excited about an upcoming move to Indy and it was exactly what we needed! My kids (ages 7&4) had a fantastic time. The new exhibit of Leonardo the Mummified Dinosaur was really interesting and the kids loved the science works and carousel. We bought a membership and will definitely be back!

We have visited many children's museums across the United States, and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis sets the standard. This museum is clearly well-funded and popular. It's huge and would take more than a day to experience everything. Exhibits are updated and relevant. The facility is amazing with surprises as soon as you enter the front door. The staff is enthusiastic. Ample parking is available in the museum's own garage (I don't recall paying any fee to park).

Don't miss this children's museum if you happen to be passing through Indianapolis, even if you have only a couple of hours.

We took our 2 year old on a Sunday and had a great time. The exhibits are interesting for kids and adults. You should definitely see the planetarium and the forest exhibit. The play area had a visiting drum instructor. It was totally worth the money. We only stayed 2 hours and saw only a fourth of the exhibits. They also had healthy food options, but it was somewhat pricey. i.e. 6+ for a sandwich.
