We just love The Children's Museum! While it's geared toward children, there is plenty to do and see as an adult. If you haven't been (or if you have), GO!

The children's museum isn't just for children. My husband and I love going to take in the new exhibitions. Lots and lots of activities for children. Around the world discoveries, playscape, submarines, archaeology... the Children's Museum has it all. The IMAX movies are also fantastic. Con: the food is a bit pricey so i suggest you bring your own.

I live in Indianapolis. When my 10 year old granddaughter and 3 year old grandson visit, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis is always a must-visit. There is something there for both of them. Even when we get there when the doors open and leave at closing, we have failed to see it all. They both like the Egyptian area. That's where we spend most of our time. They also like to go to the basement floor and look up at the glass sculpture. We often have to wait for the adults to move out of the way, though! My grandson also likes the train exhibit on that floor. The food is good, but somewhat expensive. We usually bring some of our own food and drinks. The free parking is nice.

I think this museum is fantastic. Among the best in the country. For kids and adults to enjoy. Many interactive exhibits. A full size beautiful hand craved animal carousel. Anyone who loves model trains will be mesmerized. Would highly recommend a visit.

This museum doesn't compare to the St. Louis Magic house children's museum. We took our 3 1/2 yr old daughter to the Magic House last year & that was AMAZING! If you like dinosaurs, the Indianapolis museum is well worth the trip.
Bottom line - if you want a child friendly hands on museum, make sure the Magic House is in your plans.
