This is a delightful museum. We've visited similar sites in several cities. This one it top notch. I've watched this develop from a small property to what is likley the best in the nation. There are hands-on-activities and many things to see. Go and enjoy!

“If you have children, this is a must see in Indy. Great for a Rainy Day!”
Reviewed August 15, 2011

You will know you are there when you see the large dinosaur breaking down the outside wall; and I mean LIFE size! The kids will love it! It doesn't matter what your kids interests are, you will find something to please everyone. This is the country's largest Children's Museum. From race cars, to Egypt, science, health, or dinosaurs, you will find something for everyone. Of course, the biggest thing to see there is the 3,200 piece Dale Chihuly Fireworks of Glass Tower. It stands tall through the middle of all three floors and is the centerpiece of the museum and the only one like it in the world.
The first Thursday of each month fro 4-8 pm is free. There is also a full-dome planetarium for your little space explorers.
Teachers and educators may attend special workshops dedicated to assisting you in using the museum for units in your teaching and for field trips. Be warned, if you are there during the school year, it may be packed with field trips; especially in the spring. And of course, it is always busy on the weekends.
If you are in Indy and have an afternoon, take your kids; it will keep them busy for hours!

“Very nice museum!”

The museum has a little bit of everything for every age group. We only spent 2-3 hours but you could very well spend the whole day.

“Great hands on fun for kids”
Reviewed August 13, 2011

This museum was so much fun for our kids ages 2,5 & 7. They loved all of the hands on learning areas. The dinosaur exhibit, train exhibit, science port, indoor carousel, rooms of mirrors, and tunnels to explore in so many different exhibits, there were just so many things for them to see and do! I also love that you can bring a packed lunch if you'd like, to enjoy in the cafeteria; but they do have a wide variety of foods to choose from if your wanting to buy lunch there. It was a great memory we'll treasure forever, and look forward to coming back again someday soon.
