If you're looking for a tranquil setting in which to celebrate a special occasion and want to invite a large group of friends and family, then consider Malmalling Vineyard. I recently attended an event for about 80 people who were all seated around long trestle tables in the outdoor patio area. Although it was torrential rain outside and very cold and windy, the restaurant provided gas outdoor heaters which helped a bit. The function was well run; coffee/tea separate table provided with urns; comfy sofas and arm chairs in the outdoor area; plenty of room for young children to play within site of parents; and sheltered from the elements by long plastic cafe blinds. I would imagine that this setting would be absolutely perfect during a better month of the year, in the warmer weather. Winter isn't the best time for an outdoor event but if you just wanted to go to Malmalling Vineyard for an intimate dinner then there is a small but lovely restaurant seating area indoors. Facilities are clean; food is wholesome; staff are efficient (although some of the young ones could be trained more in customer service and a bright manner when working under pressure!). I would imagine that this also would be a nice setting for a small wedding. Parking is available, with flat paths through the bush to the venue. Not sure how wheelchairs would go, but it could work! All in all this was a delightful experience and despite the cold weather, meals were served hot and on time. Well done! I only drank water so cannot comment on the quality of drinks!
