“Food, food....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

Went for dinner and had their meat banquet. There was so much food, it was delicious. It begins with dips & warm pita bread, beans, olives, roasted capsicum, dolmades, Saganaki & fried continental sausage. After a short pause, a meat platter with chicken, chicken wings, rissoles, lamb & lamb chops arrives with a Greek salad. The meat is tender, well seasoned & melts in your mouth. Last course is dessert which is baklava & I think a form of Greek custard with coffee or tea.

There is so much food, you should only have a light lunch before going.

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

First time at this restaurant : we were looked after by a very pleasant, entertaining, and accommodating waiter.
The food:
Saganaki - Excellent!
Calamari - Excellent!
Mixed dips/pita bread - Excellent!
Mixed Meat Platter(4) - Disappointing!
I will add that the cutlets came out "steaming" hot and were very tasty. As for the rest of the items ie greek meatballs, they were not cooked fresh but rather cooked earlier and reheated. Taste not so great either. other items on the platter - chicken legs/chicken wings - not so greek(lol), 60% of platter consisted of lamb and chicken gyros. Unfortunately if you do not eat this kind of meat as it comes of the grill, it will be less than great. A better combo would be to add a spicy greek sausage, and a tasty pork chop(lose the chook/wings/legs). Now, thats Greek style!
Recommendation: try the many smaller items they have on the menu that are cooked fresh ie grilled octopus, calamari, saganaki etc.
Yes, we will try them again:)

“Excellent food & service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2013

Our family of 4 celebrated my birthday here, we ordered 2 of their seafood set menus for $60 (total $120) and there was heaps of food. The entrees consisted of saganaki, 6 yummy dips, pita bread, continental sausages, pickled octopus, vine leaves and olives - needless to say I was full after this. It was so very delicious and the children enjoyed tasting new foods. The dips were so yummy. The mains consisted of a meat platter with lamb, chicken, rissoles, cutlets and the seafood platter had calamari, whitebait, char-grilled octopus, prawns and scallops. There was also a greek salad but I didn't like the marinade. Dessert was 2 baklava, custard cake, Turkish delight and coffees. The service was brilliant, the wait staff were very helpful, attentive and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was great and we will definately return. We took home 2 big containers of food as there was so much left over.
Thankyou.

“Really good evening out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

The food here is great and there is plenty of it! I would suggest sharing mains at least.
Wine list is on the short side and a bit pricey for average wines, corkage on BYO is available and this would be the route to go.
Overall there is a good atmosphere and friendly service, on the negative side we had to ask for desert menu's, as the plates were not cleared at that stage we thought that would also serve as a hint not so. We ordered Greek coffee which was superb and baklava which did not arrive, when it appeared on the bill we pointed this out and they were most apologetic.
Could probably do with an extra member of staff during the busy period and provide them with a little training especially on wine service. But this is a family tavern not fine dining and with good food and good value for money it is easy to see how it gets a list of regulars.

“First time visitor but will return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

Fantastic fresh food. Always rate my Greek restaurants on the saganaki and this was one of the best! Tip though - one souvlaki between two was plenty. Bread had to be homemade. Will definitely return
