My last visit, will be my last visit. Things have changed, they are no longer good. They were in years gone, but not now. Most things are not made there, prices are high, service is poor. I won't be going back again.

I have purchased and enjoyed all of the above dishes at this comfortable, home like place. Excellent selection of spirits. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Homemade specialities always available! Great amount of eats at very reasonable prices.

Every time I return to the Region, I meet my old friends and family at the "Cav." A cozy, 40's era family run bar/restaurant, the proprietor knows the regulars by name and treats newcomers like family. The pierogi are unbelievable - plump, juicy, and hand made weekly. Last time I had kraut, potato, cheese, and seasonal blueberry! The pork chops are pounded thin lightly breaded, and sauteed..and so big they practically hide your plate! With a side of mashed potatoes and green beans, you know you're home (or in heaven!) The fried chicken is tender, the stuffed cabbage will give you good dreams, and, of course, the family-style homemade coleslaw and kidney bean salad are legendary. Of course, they serve the Region favorites - boned and buttered perch and frog legs! Good Polish beer and authentic ethnic dishes that I can neither spell nor pronounce. I love this place!

There is no better place for Polish food and hospitality in NW Indiana or Chicagoland. The Polish specialties are fabulous - and other items like the pork chops are great too. Add to that all the typical adult beverages you expect - and Polish beer and liquors and you have the makings for a great night.

Tell Wally that Dave sent you.
