“Expensive small lot in town”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

First off this is not a campground, more like a lot with trees and rv hookups. The "nature trail" is about 500 ft through the woods, everything is overpriced. The people that run it are nosey. Basically camping in town Which defeats the purpose really. 60$ a night for nothing! Oh and their fresh baked cookies are basically bought at the store then warmed up there,. Theres a campground 14 miles away called mini mountain campground and it is 10 times better and on 80 acres where you can actually fish and camp!

Thank you for your comment. We are glad you found a campground now which you like.
We have our safety and security rules in place and we try to enforce them in a friendly and encouraging way.
And we're glad you know now where our Otis Spunkmeyer cookies coming from. From the oven in our store and not from the store. They are so good, aren't they.

Nice park but they charge for everything even visitors. We stayed for 8 days and were charged an extra $42.44 for our 2 dogs. ($7 per day) They reason we were there for 8 days was because my daughter lives in area. If she or the grand kids wanted to come and see us, they charged $4 per person to come to the camp sight. I told them I can understand if they want to charge for using the pool, but to come and have coffee with us in the morning or eat a meal with us is not right. There reason, I was told that they charge, they may used the toilet and use water witch cost them money. Will not stay there again. Trains go threw one block away 3 or 4 times a night.

The staff makes this place. They were helpful and very friendly. The sites don't have a lot of room but adequate space. (you won't be here there is a lot to do around here). The pool wasn't open yet but they were filling it and it looks nice. The laundry is very clean and huge washing machines. They have coffee and bagels in the morning. Coffee is good, Oh yes there is a small petting zoo. I would stay here again.

The employees could not be more helpful! So close to Notre Dame! The bath house is so clean and warm! There is a great Italian restaurant with in walking distance to the campground! Would definetly use this Koa again!

This is a wonderfully maintained campground. It is heavily wooded, scenic, and includes flat tent pads in each tent site. The bathrooms are clean, and 2 bagels and coffee are offered in the morning for only a dollar. Definitely one of the nicest KOAs I've been to. And, at $30 total price for a tent site (as of 2013), it is more affordable than most other KOA locations.

The one major downside is not the fault of the management: all night long, trains pass close by and blast their whistles. So, know that you will be woken up during the night, especially if you're sleeping in a tent.

My husband and I stayed in one of their camping cabins because we arrived late and didn't feel like setting up the tent. It came to $40-something for the cabin and seemed very worth it. The cabin was adorable and clean, had internet, power, and AC. We arrived at Notre Dame the next day in a matter of minutes. Bathrooms were very clean and I liked the set up of the showers (they each had their own full doors to close and lock so it was like its own room)

Staying at the South Bend/Elkhart North KOA was wonderful! Their facilities are lovely, it's right off the highway, and it was so reasonably priced. Thomas (the owner, I believe) is very kind and helpful. He met us at the entrance upon our 11pm arrival to show us where to park and get us all settled. Considering their office closes much earlier, I thought that was wonderful. They made accommodations for our large moving truck & car carrier. There is a pool, goats/donkeys, a dog park, and much more! We only stayed one night but wished we had more time at this darling place!
