This place is WONDERFUL. Being from North Central Indiana it is the perfect place to getaway for a weekend. The rooms are resonably priced and the staff is very attentive. Be sure to joing the resort's reward club becasue they offer the best comps that I have ever seen. Yes we gamble in the Casino but it is well worth it because we earn at least one free night a month between the two of us. The food selection is good and I highly reccomend the restaurant at the golf course for a casual meal. They will take youup there as well as pick you up at the airport and take you between the two hotels really a hidden gem and step back into history.

Our group aged from 71 to 4, and everyone was happy! Fabulous service, beautiful golf course, horse trails, biking and hiking paths. The scenery and architecture is amazingly, spectacularly beautiful! When I think this was reclaimed from so very long ago with it's history completely intact, it just amazes me; and I'm sure it will you too! There's a shuttle between the two historic properties and it's quite convenient (though walking it, is beautiful on a nice day). The KidFest center is absolutely fantastic: kids can play dress up, computer/tv games, board games, paint, color, watch movies, put on skits, playground; you name it, this place has it! the only fly in the ointment is their Spa's aromatherapy bath IS NOT a typical aroma most people enjoy (SULFUR from their springs), but their Hot Stone Massage is oh so marvelous!

Room Tip: Ask for a Room on the Spa Wing.

We arrived to welcoming Valets. The wrap around porch was so inviting I just wanted to rock even though it was raining. If you have a good book, curl up on the porch and enjoy. The checkin wait was minimal. Our guest relations expert, Lisa was very knowledgable answering our questions. Lisa made us feel extremely welcome. Our room was beautiful, clean and the decor was befitting the history of the resort. We discovered the indoor lap pool, first class spa, and many other hidden gems.

As we walked the enormous halls, my husband and I could feel the grandeur of time gone by and marveled at what may come. The resort was hosting a wedding in the beautiful ballroom and the sights and sounds were joyful.

When we retired for the evening the bed linens were luxurious and we truly had a great nights rest.

We had a wonderful time at French Lick. The buffet for Sunday brunch was delicious. Chef prepares made to order omelets, wonderful fried chicken, best broccoli casserole ever, fresh fruit & salad bar to name a few buffet offerings. The only improvement would be in dessert choices. My husband recommends the red velvet cake.

We hope to return when it is not raining to enjoy the Gardens & grounds as well as other hidden treasures of this historic resort and West Baden which is close by.

French Lick Resort is not just an overnight visit it is a vacation destination. Looking forward to sunshine and a return visit.

Room Tip: Ask for the Garden view room. As we stood looking out at the beauty, we imagined the beautiful ladies in their ball gowns as they danced with their gentlemen callers in days gone by. Peaceful.

I loved it there. Reminded me more of the genteel south with large rocking chairs on a huge front deck/porch area. We were commuting to and from Louisville for the Derby so didn't get a chance to dine or really hang out there, but the staff we did encounter were wonderful. The only fly in the ointment? A group of golfers on the same floor as us were really noisy and that lasted until 2 am. Other than that, it was a wonderful weekend.

Beautifully appointed resort with super service and beautiful golf courses. The shuttle throughout the two historic properties was so convenient. Although it is in the middle of no where the trip is so worth the getting there. A Greenbrier of the midwest! Only drawback...the casino was smokey, but we are not really gamblers so not an issue.
