This is a great place. The loft has two queen size beds and they are pillow tops. The same for the bed on the ground level. Everything was well laid out and accessible. The Jacuzzi was wonderful. The view to the east was great. We woke up at the crack of dawn to see the sun rising over the trees through the huge windows in the loft. The 1.2 mile gravel lane is definitely an indicator that you are back off of the main highway and secluded. We do look forward to returning. I would give a 4.5 overall.
Great location, secluded with great privacy. The cabin was clean and surpassed our expectations. Thanks for a great stay!
We stayed in cabin 2 which will soon not be available as the owners will be moving into it in a couple of months. It is not the A roof one pictured, but a ranch style cabin. Good news, they are building another cabin next door! When we got there, the cabin looked better than the pictures! Inside, it was extremely clean and comfortable (especially the beds). The furniture and furnishings are top notch! We chose this place because we could bring our dog, and we appreciated a having a beautiful, well-taken care of place to to spend as a family and pet. It does not have wifi, but we did have good cell reception. We loved the hot tub, and only wished it was covered (it is at the A-frame cabin) since the rain was heavy a lot when we were there. The owners were good at communicating. I liked being able to choose what code I wanted to enter, and we had no trouble getting in and locking up.
One thing that made us nervous as city folks was the one mile gravel road/driveway to the cabin. At one point, you drive up an incline, and you can't see if the road continues until you are on the other side. The driveway had a dip that scraped the bottom of the car, but we got better at avoiding it the third time. By the time we were to leave, we had felt better about driving to/from the place. If you aren't used to driving on gravel, it can be nerve-wracking,but it's really fine. We found out that gravel roads are common throughout Southern Indiana or at least my GPS loved directing us to them.
There were really only two inconveniences our entire stay. The screen door on the front porch pushed in from the outside which I liked (dog less likely to push himself out and go for a run on his own). However, there was really bad wind storm the second night, and the door blew open and shut loudly multiple times (it took me awhile to figure out what the noise was; I kept being woken up by a loud bang). A latch at the top would have helped. I solved the problem by pushing a porch chair against the door. Also, on Monday morning pest guy came to spray inside and outside the cabin; it would have been nice to know he was expected before he appeared as it was a regular monthly visit for him. He was a very nice guy; I'm just glad I wasn't in my bathrobe when he arrived.
We enjoyed our stay, and even the teenager who loves her internet access thought this was a great place!
We decided to book a Christmas getaway for our family of four, including two small children, ages 8 and 4. The booking process and communication with the owners was excellent - they were very responsive to any questions, provided clear directions, and really made us excited for our stay. When we arrived at the cabin, our girls were so excited about the loft beds - they immediately claimed them (and they quickly got used to how steep the stairs are). The cabin was perfectly decorated for the holidays, was immaculately clean, and just what we were looking for. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, and the dishwasher was a plus. My husband enjoyed some winter time grilling while we were there. The hot tub was perfect for 2 adults and 2 small children (I think it would be a bit tight for 4 adults), and it got a lot of use over the four days we were there, especially when it was snowing outside. While it didn't have a real fireplace, the girls loved being able to turn the electric fireplace on and off - although they did wonder how Santa would get down it ;) The 8 year old declared it was the "most beautiful place" she has every stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few places), and the 4 year old cried when we left. We didn't spend any time outside, but the view was stunning. I can imagine it is amazing in the fall time. Thank you for allowing us to make such fantastic family memories! I hope we will be back!
We enjoyed our stay in this well maintained and clean cabin. We liked the fact that it is the last cabin on the drive way in. Loved the fact that when I looked out the front door or sat on the porch with my morning coffee that I was looking at the woods and not another cabin. The hot tub on the back porch was great. This cabin also had a lot of outdoor seating for larger groups. Close to French Lick also.
This cabin was the perfect stay for our get away! Pet friendly and comfortable, it's stocked with just about everything you will need. Although it's not far from town, it felt like a million miles away because it was so quiet and private. It was wonderful to see deer, birds and even wild turkeys. We hope to be able to visit again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this secluded cabin near French Lick, Indiana. The cabin was meticulously clean, the beds were comfortable, and the owners had thought of everything! We also were able to bring along our dog! The surroundings were beautiful, and so peaceful! The owners were friendly and went out of their way to have great communication and make sure that our stay was enjoyable and as convenient as possible.
