Oyster Bar has been visited by my mom and dad and was the place they would take us kids when we were younger for a special occasion. It is nestled in the south part of the downtown on Calhoun Street. When I visited as a child, we had to enter from the back because there was alcohol served and you had to be 21 to be served in the front. A talking point and a point of reminiscence.
The quality of food has not changed in all these years. Took my aunt there who claimed the filet was the best she ever tasted. They serve oysters on the half shell, a real delicacy and always have fish specials, created by their outstanding chef and staff; service is impeccable and they have a full bar with luscious drinks.
Very intimate setting. Would certainly make reservations on most evenings. They do serve lunch and they serve the same quality food have the same diligent wait-staff.
