The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is absolutely amazing. There are exhibits, displays, and activities for every age group. The spring always brings the appearance of new zoo babies. There are overnight camps, hands-on activities, zoo-related rides, and different themed areas to visit--Australian Adventure and African Journey to name two.

When zoo season officially ends, there are still events such as Zoo Halloween to look forward to--always family-friendly.

The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is a treasure indeed.

This zoo is ranked as one of the top 10 zoos in the country & it deserves its rating. I visit at least twice a year with a set of toddler twin boys & we love it! This zoo has a rain forest, bat habitat, an aquarium that includes sharks & a glowing jellyfish display & an African Savannah & many more attractions. They are also all about education & as you walk through the zoo you will find discovery stations with staff guides to educate you about specific animals. Recently we learned about snakes, chameleons, & about a shark that lays eggs at 3 different stations! One thing you want to make sure to do is to is to feed the giraffes. Kids & families love this opportunity as you feed & pet them on their level. Bring your $1 bills to exchange for tokens in the token machine & quarters to feed the ducks & catfish in the pond. The zoo has so much to offer that I recommend you plan on visiting for at least 3 or more hours. Dress the kids in swim wear under their clothes or bring them along as there is a splash pool/fountain to play in on hot days just to take a break. Food & concessions are available, but you can take your own into the zoo to save $$. You can find many shady places to eat & take a break. There are also rides for small fees (tokens) such as a carousel, train, & sky ride- more nice breezy breaks. On any given day we've found it hard to do the whole zoo in a day. If you're up to it it will take approx. 3-5 hrs to see it all. The children I go with each year are never bored even though they visit at least 3 times a year. If you wish to leave for a break & come back the same day make sure you get your hand stamped to return. If the weather temps reach over 75 the animals are not as active in the day as they are in the morning although mornings are usually quite busy if you go when they open. We usually go approx. an hour after the gates open to avoid a line. Strollers are welcome & handicap accessible throughout the zoo.

This Zoo is awesome and simply amazing! It has different rides kids and adults can enjoy such as the River Log ride (my favorite), Miniature Train ride. Endangered Carousel , and the Sky Safari. They also give you a chance to pet and feed farm animals. They have The Indonesian Rain Forest featuring some of the tropical plants , birds and butterflies. The Australian adventure is one unforgettable experience featuring the shark aquarium and Walkabout Aviary . I could go on forever describing this Zoo but the best thing to do is to go on an adventure yourself and visit Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is very child friendly. There are several rides geared for children and adults, too. There is a train ride, water log ride (very mellow) which goes around the kangaroo enclosure, a sky ride, and carousel. There are even pony rides. These rides are an extra fee, but you can buy a pass for a discounted rate. You can feed the giraffes, which are at eye level to the children! The zoo is well designed so there isn't long distances between the animals. It is a very clean zoo as well. We try to visit at least once a year even though our children are nearly grown. Our out of town guests always enjoy our zoo. Parking is free and if you have a zoo membership to another zoo, you likely will get in for half price. We live in Fort Wayne and highly recommend visiting our zoo.
