We LOVE the Zoo! We've been members for 2 years, can't beat the value of a family membership. Kids love it, there's always great events (like the overnight we did with our Girl Scout troop), grounds kept immaculately, good fun rides. Overall a wonderful place!

The zoo has a lot of character. It has many animals (mostly smaller animals and birds) for you to see. There are many varieties I have not seen at other zoos. The walking trails are of decent length for kids, and you can actually see the animals from many different vantage points. There are other things to do, which cost a few dollars more (raft ride, train ride, feeding ducks and giraffe). The paths have tons of great landscaping, and there is always zoo staff nearby. Our daughter like to splash in the little splash pools, which take the edge off the heat of the day. A few food spots along the way, nothing special. Finding the zoo was a challenge, it is nestled back in a neighborhood, and there is plenty of parking. Highly recommend bringing sun screen, extra water and snacks for the kids. On hot days there are a few buildings that have air and fans, for a quick recovery. This was our 3rd trip to the zoo, and we are from Minnesota we see something new each time!!

We visited the Ft. Wayne Childrens' Zoo in July 2013 on a Friday. There were quite a few people there due to some day camp experiences for children.

Even so we found a free parking spot near the entrance. Adult non-members were $13.50 each. Upon entering the zoo, we were taken by surprise at how lush the trees, plants, and other vegetation was.

Even with recent rains lending to the health of plants, this zoo was as well manicured and designed as botanical gardens. Walk-ways wind under trees and tall grass.

There are little "alcoves" along the walks with seating or shelters against the sun. With hundreds of people there that day, the exhibits and walk-ways wound in such a way that it didn't feel overcrowded.

The animal enclosures were equally sheltered with live trees and vegetation as much as possible. There was a sky ride to take visitors over the park, a little train, and river ride.

Activities inside the park accepted tokens (for rides, to feed animals and such). One could exchange money for tokens at vending machines.

This zoo was exceptionally clean, manicured and well staffed. One doesn't need children to have a very pleasant experience at this zoo. It surpasses (in my opinion), the Indianapolis Zoo.

Wonderful time , plenty of space to sit and take the load off, eating areas; which are a little high price, rides, and plenty of restrooms around. We can get close to peacocks , goats , and ducks. On misty days the animals love to move. My take on it the day I went. The Safari walk is so cool. We seen the dolphins do a show at the 3:00 feeding. Cooled off on the train ride. When my kids were small, I would buy a summer pass, which was also good for other zoos. I an on getting me a grandparents pass for next year.

Been here several times and I am always amazed at the size of this place. My kids love it and adults like it as well. Although some may complain about the price, a membership is definitely worth it. Our family membership pays for itself after two and a half visits. Plus, the membership gets you into other regional zoos at a discounted rate or for free.
