But really, it's not. Nearly 100 years of tradition tells us this is more than that. A thin, crispy hot dog on a steamed bun topped with delicious chili and a handful of chopped onions - nothing more, nothing less. And at $1.39 each, you can eat your way to hot-dog heaven for not a lot of cash. Being a person who believes that a good hot-dog is truly the world's perfect food, this was like a trip to the Holy Land. Get there!

We go here alot after church. The place is nostalgic, like going back in time. Just a small place right off main street downtown. The servers are friendly and service is pretty fast. The coneys for me are just average in flavor.

No visit to Fort Wayne would be complete without a stop at Coney Island. The food is great, the coming and going of folks is great entertainment. Never had a bad experience in eating there for the past 30 plus years.

Man those dogs took me back to the days of real chilli dogs. The place is historic. Wish they would have had shakes or malts but was still awsome.

Honestly the thrill of going to Coney Island and eating somewhere so "historical" is often times more exciting than the food itself in my opinion. The "chilli" that comes on top of the hot dogs has changed throughout the years to now consist of a very watery liquid that instantly soaks the bottom of the bun and leaves a greasy film on the plate. What happened to the thicker chill I wonder? The staff are always really rushed as they don't have the room to hire and employ a great number of staff at one time, but they are nice. I believe that since the hot dogs are very inexpensive they are able to get away with the watery "chilli" sauce on the hot dogs. I would suggest going here once just to see what it is like, but ultimately I can make better (and kosher) hot dogs at home, make my own chilli sauce, and have a much better time. Parking is a nightmare there if you go around a busy time as their back parking lot can only hold maybe 10-15 cars at the most.
