“Busy Friday Night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

Visited Hornville Tavern for first time in almost 3 years. The food was as delicious as we remembered it but the tavern was so busy the service was lacking. On entering every vacant table had a Reserved sign so we sat at bar. Immediately a server came to seat us at a table. Very nice! The waitress had to be flagged down, but she was very nice and apologetic that she did not see us. After about 25 minutes post order, she came to tell us we were third in line in kitchen orders. Food arrived soon and was great. No complaints other than slow service, but I am aware that the capacity crowd contributed to that situation. Will certainly return!

“Worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

Hornville Tavern is a bit out in the country, and is mostly surrounded by corn/bean fields, but it is well worth the trip. Charming local atmosphere, reasonable prices, and good food makes it a winner. There are several "similar" local restaurants located on the north side of Evansville, and Hornville is easily my favorite.

“Unassuming in the middle of farm fields”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

There's nothing fancy about this place; it's very casual but the food is great. Our food was served promptly and we were surprised the portion size was so large with such a reasonable price. We were going to get dessert because of all the rave reviews, but it took the waitress 45 mins to come to our table after we were done eating. We were in no hurry & enjoyed relaxing & chatting but didn't wanna chance being there another hour just for dessert. There was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant & she was running around taking orders & delivering food. There were also 2 large (12+ people) parties.

“Wed night special is really good and cheap!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

A group of friends and I eat at Hornville every few weeks and normally on our wed night mens night. I have got the Fried Chicken and the Smoked Chicken and both are great and very cheap for what you get. I got a half a fried chicken (4Pieces) baked potato, green beans and a slice of beer bread. To wash it down I had two giant fish bowls of beer and a glass of water, all that was under $15. The smoked chicken is a little cheaper yet!!! I have also had the BBQ and enjoyed it very much. Great place, nice country atmosphere, nice folks. We will be back.
